Thanks to Forum members, I found the rope swing Saturday. My wife, daughter and fiance, and 2 other couples found the swing and it was a blast. It has 2 different levels of "take off." I must admit, the second level is quite intimidating for us older folks but, you only live once. I never knew "rope-swinging" could make one so sore.

you find out rather quickly that one is slightly out of shape. Wake boarding when you have not done it for years finds those same unused muscles. Get out the heating pads and ice packs.

Yea we took the kids on sunday twice! Once in the morning and once later that afternoon. Nothing but good people looking to have fun on the swing. My 5 year old nephew had a blast on the swing.

I know that there has been posts describing the location of some of the rope swings but can't seem to locate them.

Can anyone provide directions from the Blue Creek area to a good rope swing?

Pike,
Go past the rock and take a left towards the dam. Goat island will be on the right and take the last slough on the left before the dam. The slough is a very short one and the rope swing is in the right corner. Much fun.

Is there a zip line anywhere on the lake? I have been to the rope swing in Manoy Creek and I thought someone said there was one near there.

a rope from a tree on one side of a slough tied to a lower tree on the other side of the slough? Drop off in between?

yep. and a little handle sort of thing and you just "zip" across. :) I bet if there is one it's private. I can see that getting messed up a lot faster than a plain old rope.

I can think of about a dozen places where that would haved worked 20 years ago. NOT NOW!! For one reason. The crappy attitude of people today.
I can imagine a really good sloped ZipLine across a slough that bends upward right in the middle at the drop point! What a gas! Climb onto a boat or float and swim over to go again! I might even try it myself at 62! Boats anchored around/music/enjoying.
NOPE! NOT! Somebody would get a bloody nose. Then somebody's daddy would hire a lawyer, and,, and,, No more Zip Line. The guy who put up the line on his property in deep DooDoo.
Nah. Not any more. Sorry. Good idea though.

That thought never occurred to me... LOL

I used to think that PC was for "Personal Computer" and never thought of "Parker Creek".

Sometimes Geeks like me don't get the joke. :-)

it is definitely not "croppie" attitude.... "hooked on phonics spelling"

I do fish.. rarely. Ya'll see my good side. : ) The topics here lend themselves to that. I try to stay out of the politics... like I am going to change somebodys mind.....

Ya'll have a "crappy" day!!!!

Crappy,

You are at/near Center Hill Lake, correct? That's a nice lake in it's own right. Fantastic mountain overlook views. I visted by air back in 2007. That water level fluctuates 25 feet, but because of the depth and steep banks you'd hardly notice at 1000 feet. Houseboats look to be popular there, but the shoreline is hardly developed. I saw a good number of marinas, but very few houses. I must say one could spend a fortune building stairs to get to the lake from a house. TVA must own most of the land?

I'd be happy to continue this discussion on the Center Hill Lake forum. :-)
