Years ago in a small Midwestern town the editor of a local newspaper wrote an editorial that said that half of the town council were crooks.

Angrily the town council threatened a law soit if he did not publish a retraction.

Next day the paper's headline said, "Half of the town council are not crooks."

Guess they were lucky only half are!
