Hi, I am down in warm Florida and I am thinking of bringing out my pontoon boat. What is the true lake level? Front page has it at 487.68 as I write this. I can get it out with that much water but it is usually safely on the mud this time of year.
If it really is that high, how long is it likely to stay this way. I would hate to rush up there and find out it WAS this high on Monday only.

Thank you. That was what I quoted in my question. However, what does it look like at your dock?
Has it stayed up this way for a few days, or has the listed level just raised overnight? In your experience, is the front page and URL levels accurate for right now?
I have seen holiday levels wildly off from what I observed out my front window.
The big question remains; is it likely to stay at this level for three days or go down? Up is better also.

It is definitely up at that level. It has gone down about 3 inches since yesterday but there is more rain coming WEd night and Thursday supposedly so I don't think they are going to be able to take it down in a huge hurry. The rivers below are full

MM, Iwould think that it will be up for atleast a little while. We are suppose to get some more rain this week. 1 to 2 inches is what the weatherman said. I have never seen it this full this time of year.

Thank you, one and all. It sounds like I will be able to get it out. That leaves my deck boat back on the market. See it at http://www.4aboat.info/

Go to this website, click on the Tallapoosa River and then the Lake Martin tab and it will give you the current numbers. Having said that, the LakeMartin website numbers are pretty close to current.

top or bottom - still cold!! If I had my boat winterized, I sure wouldn't be putting it in the water now. If I did and then took it out, I would wrap motor with a quilt and 6 mil plastic. But--- that's me.

Perhaps I was not clear or you are commenting on the water temp. My boat is in the water now. My plan was for it to sit safely on the mud bottom until spring rains brought it up. That did not work out so well as it has risen several times and banged on the dock.
As it now turns out I am moving to Florida and an unexpected chance to get it here before spring has happened. If the water stays up, I will be taking it out on a trailer and removing it to warmer water.

I just left Bay Pines area on a service call about 2:30PM and the lake may be down about 2 or 3 feet from the summer water line on the seawall there. I tell you one thing,,,, It's Freaking COLD today on the water with the wind and all.
Mega Burrrrrrrrrr.

APCo just can't get the lake to winter pool this year. Every time they get it going down, it rains elephants and hippopotami and it is right back to sumer levels. A far cry from two years ago.
