I had seen posts on here about Conecuh Sausage but had never seen it available in this area, until Friday. I was looking for sausage to add to gumbo I was cooking Saturday when I spotted it at our Wal-Mart. I will have to say the original was VERY good and added another layer of spice and flavor to the gumbo. THanks to whoever recommended it before. It made a big difference!

Lots of folks here are fans and use it in many recipes. It is in demand far and wide. Check out their Conecuh Club Facebook page for just how far it is in demand..

My favorite is two generous links of Regular fresh off the grill lying next to a couple of fried eggs and a pile of buttered grits.

I bought and used the original. Do y'all prefer the Hickory Smoked, Hickory Smoked Spicy, or Original best? How smokey is the Hickory? I like a little smoke, but now to teh point of being overpowering.

Tried all, but go back to the Original. But there is plenty of difference among them. So try them all and slot them for the occasion??

Killer for other soups, especially a bean soup. Then, use it to stuff a pork loin for the grill/smoker/rotisserie??

I stopped by Wally World to pick up some turkey breasts for our food panty T'giving dinner at church and happened to look at the Conecuh again. They had the hickory smoked on sale for $2.98. It is very good with eggs and sourdough toast!

When a company shifts to satisfy high volume, like stocking Wal-Mart, they have to invest big capital to satisfy it. The margins get smaller and the pressure to compromise increases. I hope it doesn't happen but that's usually the result.
