Motor is 98/97, 3cly, mariner 90hp 2 stroke outboard
Issue is that at wide open throttle the motor just doesn't scream like it used too. Thought I could play around with the high end carb adjustment screw but doesn't appear to have one. Just want to try and get higher RPM out of it. Fuel pump was rebuilt 2 years ago and stator replaced as well. Carbs have never been serviced but I opened them up 2 years ago when I did the fuel pump and they looked new inside. Prop has been replaced several times over the years. Diameter is the same but unsure of pitch. Thoughts? Also are you still on Lake Martin. Thinking about taking it too you if you are to have a look. Overall the motor runs great. Idles fine. Starts easy even after sitting all winter.

We prolly need to talk on the phone. Does the boat stay in the water? If so, is the bottom really nasty? Carbs that look clean sometime are stopped up. Might just be time for a complete tune-up. About the Lake store, we closed it last fall. Sorry, but we tried really hard and just could not make it work. Our store is located in Prattville. We would appreciate your business there. We could look it over and give you an honest opinion on what is going on. Thanks for the post. If you will call we can chat more in detail about what is going on.
Steve
PS. DON'T bring it with Snakes under the hatch! (Mulligan)

Don't think it's a bottom issue. When I put the hammer down rpms go to 5000 rpm and it hesitates between 4700 rpm and 5000. Runs fine at 4500 rpm. I would expect it to go to 5500/6000 rpm and do the 2 stroke scream. I think it's a fuel/air mixture or electrical. I will do a rebuild of the carbs over Thansgiving week. If it doesn't fix you will see me during the off season.
