and this will be the LAST thread I EVER post!
This will be a thread for real lake people (newbies, lifers, part timers and year rounders) to share POSITIVE / FUNNY /ANCIENT/RECENT lake stories... cuz other than catharsis for allowing me to vent, I did love hearing others felt as I do about this lovely lake.
I will start... hmmmmm. The Island in Ware's Slough! Swimmable from even the farthest cabin in the slough and visible from MOST kitchen windows, it was our "Indian Village". We had teepees, village campsites, hides of ???? hanging to dry (the guys did that, after all a girl must have her boundaries) and our own tribal order. "Fishing" was accomplished with that white kitchen string and a hook... "catching" was really never accomplished. We danced around the campfire at night (complete with woowoos)... smoked Pall Mall nonfilters stolen from the Widemans mom. The boys could stay the night... girls picked up a few hours after dark by dads in john boats (despite our bohemian lives, the "tiny kingdom" reigned supreme as far as what was and was not seemly, our moms drew the line). In those hours after dusk, we solved the problems of the universe... contemplated the existance of a supreme being... learned how to spell dirty words in the dirt. You know, the important things!!!!!!
Only rule is.... NOTHING negative or even snippy... Please share with us.

would you have done any of that if you had 200 TV stations, internet, cell phones, PS3, 360,.......AND JET SKIs, back then kids had to take a cowturd and a string to make a toy.

I don't know though... The year of the drought, mine took the rudders off the knee boards and "surfed" the mud. They got the tubes and tow ropes and played mud gladiator/chariot with sticks as swords. Kinda glad they didn't come up with SOME of the stuff we can up with as kids!!!! Sometimes I'm not sure how we survived!!!

Four of my grandsons were here last weekend. They are not old enough yet for the wake boards and skis, but they do enjoy rides on the sea doo and boat. They have their most fun, however, when playing in the small stream that takes my rock fountain water back to the lake.
They find rocks, sticks and such to dam it up and then ask poppa to turn on the fountain so they can see how well the dam will hold. The little one (1 1/2) just likes to throw rocks into the stream. The oldest one also gets kicks out of digging holes in my garden, sometimes even digs one where I need it. I mentioned to him last time that he was digging to China, and he said "What??". I explained the concept to him, and then we wondered what would happen if a seven year old from China was digging a hole, would they meet in the middle?
I just love it when the kids find something to do that is just "made up". Hopefully, they find it at a spot where there is no poison ivy.

I have developed a cowturd and string kit. It is great for all offspring.
Just give each of them the box which contains a three cowturds and two strings and see how creative the little buggers can get.
$18.95/ kit. 10% discount to forum members who mention that they saw it here.

..sounds like a lead story for WSFA...7 yr. old from Alabama accidentally bumps into 7 yr. old from China in center of the earth. Unlikely, you say. Not so fast....the unlikely part is that both toddlers were carrying with them two strings and a ziplock baggie of bovine excrement...film at eleven...whoaaaaa...gotta back off this caffeine a tad....

7 year old looks at cowturd and reads Made In China. Grandpa, how did the cowturd get here so quick I just started digging? Why doesn't it read Made in USA?
