I saw estimates of 30,000 people in attendance.  Even at 10 people per boat (probably high), that would be 3,000 boats!  Anybody think that would be correct? At 7 foot width per boat (probably a good average) the tie line would extend 21,000 feet, or about 4 miles. Does not compute.

I counted the boats. Including pwcs and canoes kayaks and other such paddle devices there were 2652 boats.
I also counted the people (not on boats) in the isles on the docks in the mosh pit and on land. that number was 7341. There was a student from the University of Alabama and one from Auburn University backing me up.

I did not count the number of people on each boat, but my best judgment is that there were at least seven. That being the case there were only 25,905 people present.  So Bad Boy you are right there were not 30,000 people at Aquapalooza.

You forgot to add all the vessels and occupants that drove through throughout the day

I may recall wrong, but thought I'd read this was the last Aquapalooza for Sea Ray.  Sales etc just didn't happen.
If so, I sure hope the lake can continue something along this line as so many do really enjoy it.

McGill - we read your stuff day in and day out hour after hour on this forum.  Badboy asks one question about the event and you deem it necessary to give him a load of crap?  He deserved better.

What about movie night at Acapulco Rock - put a projector on a stable boat, and "vote" for movies online?

Smitty, you are correct. I took his post to be confrontational and looking for support in trashing the Marine Police and Aquapalooza, but I don't know that to be true. He also took a shot at NCII last year, so I guess I was loading up a bit heavy. My Bad; I deleted the post.

That could be an interesting challenge.

Well said and well done.  Not many folk will take a look at constructive criticism and say "you know, you may be right"

I read Sea Ray would not be doing a signature event, but I believe they plan to continue sponsoring. The key is getting other sponsors and it may even become more of a paid event like the first 3 mooring lines. If it all does go away, I'm going to rent a band and pass a hat around.

I'd hate to tell Sea Ray "it's the economy stupid..."

It was my understanding there would be no signature event this year

Bay Pines is already doing movie night.  Go see Bill Kinnebrew and put your movie request in at the Marina.
