Received the following text from my wife this morning. I deleted the source's name, but it is a person I have known for at least 35 years and istrustworthy. Here is my wife's text
"Btw (name deleted) said he had it from a man who worked with Roy Moore years ago and the unsavory rumors are absolutely true"
I now am in favor of the Governor delaying the election until Moore can be convinced to drop out and a new candidate named.

Will see what Ivey does, its a lose lose situtation and as usual have to vote the lesser of stupid or evil.
If it was such an open secret and we now have well however many -5, 8, 9, 15? It amazes me that a father/brother did not shoot him back in the day with a shotgun.
One intersting tidbit if all of this is true, is that there are some reports going around that he was a democrat at the time of these accusations, so it could make perfect sense.

Ivey has already said she will not delay the election. And you know he won't step down. I don't agree with the governor and think they should cancel the election for December and open the race for new candidates. We look like fools to the rest of the country, and it is not like he is the most wonderful candidate ever. There has to be another conservative that would be a better fit in representing the people of Alabama. From what I have heard, this business with the teenagers was an open secret.

He was a TERRIBLE candidate before any of this came along, as stated above. On the one hand I say "Show me Bill Clinton in jail and I will not vote for Roy Moore". On the other hand, I say "OK dems, you won this one. We were stupid enough to put forth Roy"

Luther Strange resigns which is enough of a reason for the Governor to postpone the special election. Then find a way to get Moore to step aside. What they need is time to sort this out which is what the coordinated timing of this was planned to prevent. We can always point to what the Dems did with Torricelli in NJ when the catarwauling starts. Otherwise we lose a seat in the Senate for at least two years. Will Luther Strange do this or not? I am in the not category unless Trump can convnce him.

If Strange resigns why does Moore have to step aside? Wouldn't the Gov have the authority to appoint a replacement just as the Gov appointed Strange to replace Sessions when he resigned? Moore could run again when the appointed term is over.

Now THATS an interesting propisition, fly. What if Ivey manipulated the system to get Moore out of Senate race, and then he turned around and ran against her and beat her in a governor race!?! Wouldn't that be a hoot!

and Trump is being strangely silent on this. Maybe he feels burned by the Luther Strange situation that got us where we are.
A friend of mine said to me "your Northern friends must think we're a bunch of rednecks on this" and I told her no, NJ politics was just as bad in it's own ways, and in VA, the governor threw his wife under a bus to keep from going to jail. This is the state of politics.
We're definitely off to Aberline on this one. We all know in our hearts that Roy Moore is a ridiculous choice but we can't seem to stop.
(I'm referring to the Aberline paradox, and if you don't know what it is, google it. I promise you'll enjoy it.)

Unfortunately, that sounds entirely too much like truth and maybe that is what she is afraid of.

There is one sure way to make him go away...the good people of Alabama need to rise up and tell him to go away...write in somebody decent or vote for the Democrat and then kick him out in 2 years. If Moore only receives 25 or 30% of the vote he will know he has finally been recognized for the sleazeball he is and permanently crawl back under his rock and drag some of his ''preacher'' supporters along behind him. Alabama and America and true Christianity will be better off!

Using your logic, archy, why wouldnt we just vote in moore for now and then vote him out after two years?
I say again, which is worse. .a commie den who supports partial birth abortion and selling baby's for parts, or an evangelist republican who flirted with a few teenage girls forty years ago?
