Just wondering if anyone has a process for troubleshooting a hull mounted depth finder? mine was installed at time of purchased 12 years ago and has served me well until this weekend when i fired the boat up for the first time this season.  i looked for a fuse but was unable to find one in the wiring to the power source. I hate to just start replacing components if their is a relatively simple way to determine where the problem might lye.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Call Customer Service and they may be able to help you over the phone. Also, have you Googled your problem?

Is the head unit powering up and not giving a reading?  Or, is the head unit dead?  What make and model is it.

Dash mounted 2" circular display will not power up.  Did not think to try turning on navigation lights to see if it was getting power. Not sure of brand, may be Hummingbird.

The first thing I would do is see if there is power to the unit, if it mounted in the dash most like it is a Lowrance.  There has to be a fuse, most of the time it is a 2 amp in line fuse, is there a fuse panel or circuit  breakers?
I use to rig boats in my younger days so I have encounter these problem before. Ninety percent  of the time is is a blown fuse or a loose wire. What kind of boat is it? Bill
