There's actually two boat ramps here.  One in the day use area, available with a day use yearly passs or a daily fee, or free for holders of a Senior pass.  Then there's the boat ramp in the Campground area free for campers to use.  As of this writing though (Nov 2017}, the daily use boat ramp is closed due to the extensive flooding caused by 2017 spring rains and large amounts of wood deposits washed ashore.  They hope to have that ramp back up and running by spring of 2018 or sooner.  You can call Horseshoe  Campground to check on the daily use ramp's status.  As long as it's closed, however, you can use the campground's boat ramp as if it were the daily use ramp.  Same rules and fees apply.
