If I was not grounded in my faith, I would be nuts about the nonsense going on! It's just nuts that a $3.5 trillion bill will cost zero?  $3-5 per gallon gas and estimates of +50% on heating costs this winter?  The US was energy independent just months ago and now we have no energy.  For those of us that remember Jimmy Carter, get you sweather out and fire starter.  16% interest and gas on odd/even days!  

it's too damn bad but this is reality.  Never thought I would ever see those days again.  Am I the only one?

I agree with you.  Things are going down hill rapidly.  Some days I avoid reading the news because I can't believe what is going on and it is too discouraging to contemplate.  The other day, Janet Yellen said inflation is temporary, then went on to say that it will go into next year, but I don't believe it is going to go away even next year.  Got gas at Costco today for $2.99/gal.  I do the food shopping and prices are really going up.  

We need a return to sanity.

What Goofy is saying above is that you really need to stay ignorant and uninformed so you will be a low information voter in the 2022 election.  Sadly for him and the other left wing nuts.....who are pretty silent these days....even the govt media is also covering the downward spiral of the economy, Dementia Joe's abysmal poll numbers, the crisis at the border, out of control inflation and so on.  They just do it in a way so as to spin it as not being all that bad.....don't beleive your lying eyes, amiright?  

They covered Dementia Joe begging the Saudi's for more oil production and them flipping him the bird.  And they covered Dementia Joe begging the oil industry, who he has done nothing but attack since he took office, to lower energy prices.  And they covered Dementia Joe blaming truckers for not working hard enough and causing the supply chain issues.  And they covered Dementia Joe's falling poll numbers and the panic setting in on the left about the 2022 midterms.  They are covering the litany of bad news because even they can't completely ignore it.

You are not missing anything and your observations are grounded in reality and rational throught.  Only a complete fool would think $3.5T in new spending costs $0...especially since it's really closer to $5T.  Only a complete fool would think the inflation is happening because of an overheated economy, as if that was actually happening, rather than the trillions in new money the Fed has created.  Only a complete fool would think that going from less then $2 per gallon for gas to $4 per gallon in some places and 50%+ increases in heating oil is really a good thing. 

Only a complete fool would think that the Biden admin is doing anything competently.....as of today that accounts for around 36% of the population and dropping.  Biden is literally accomplishing something I thought not possible and prayed would enver happen....making Jimmy Carter seem almost competent.  Like I said a while ago, we're partying like it's the 1970's all over again and given consumer sentiment we are truly headed for stagflation just like we had with Carter.  Those were dark days for this country and I remember them well....our national malaise has returned with a vengence.  But hey, no mean tweets, right?

We saw him in the mid 30's in several polls and the new Quinniapac numbers are no different.  Approval at 37%, dissaproval at 52%.  And among the Independents it is even worse, 28%-56% approve/disapprove.  Economy, ChiCom Fauci virus and the immigration disaster are at the top of the list of important issues, especially for Republicans and Independents.....all of which Biden is failing miserably.  Moronic Democrats have climate change as their 3rd biggest issue.  The sane people have it near or at the bottom.

Not to mention the transportation (resettlement) of illegals in the middle of the night to various states without the citizens of those municipalities having any say in the matter.  Wonder how many are going to Martha's Vineyard? 

 Is Fish serious in blaming "19" for all of this?  COVID shut down the Keystone Pipeline?  COVID was responsible for the depletion of functional warehouses?  COVID was responsible for the disaster that was the evacuation in Afghanistan?  Is COVID responsible for unions holding our ports hostage?  COVID is responsible for the IRS proposing spying on our bank accounts?  COVID is responsible for the "bridge" encampments in Texas?  Day after day of incompetence is the reason why now 80% of Republicans polled want Trump to run in 2024.

Yes, Goofy probably lives under the delusion that Dementia Joe, who claimed he was going to defeat COVID, put adults back in charge and turn the ecomomy around, is not to blame for this mess.  These are all self-inflicted wounds by a man that is in serious mental decline and is not running anything.  The country is being run by Susan Rice, Ron Klain, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer......not by Dementia Joe or his AWOL VPOTUS.  While he stumbles about and makes word salad out of his his teleprompts, she is running away from the disaster in the hopes she is not implicated. 

The guy hasn't faced the press in over 3 months and will only participate in fake, phony townhalls on cnnBS where the audience is invitation only and the questions are scripted ahead of time so he can screw up reading answers on the teleprompter.  Pray to God no actual crisis (natural or anthropogenic) happens while they are in office as we will be totally screwed......as opposed to mostly screwed due to their unbelievable incompetence.

And yes, its no wonder so many Republicans want Trump back in office.  Who would have thought that the current crowd of incompetent morons could make us actually look fondly back on the mean tweets.  As for me, I would rather see Ron DeSantis than Trump.  He has better political instincts and none of the baggage.  I think he would attract Independents and people of color in droves and wouldn't animate the loony left wing base the way Trump does.....they'll still be animated but not to the extent they will for Trump.

I feel zero excitement for Trump being back in office, but I am up for another well grounded Republican.  Liked his policies, but I think his personality was destructive and petty.  

Biden's numbers are dropping, and there is good reason for it.  He's a total disaster and his administration has not had a single success at anything they have tried, although they will pat themselves on the back and claim victory.  I love that Joe Manchin seems to have Biden by the short hairs, because even though he is a Democrat and apparently rich, he seems to understand at least something about economics and reality.  Yes, we are going to get stuck with some kind of social welfare, but it is not going to be as bad as it might have been.  

I read today that 74% of Americans are angry.  Too bad we can't harness that anger into something productive - like restoring balance in government and refusing to vote for just any candidate that gets put up, and refusing to accept these sneaky little twists by Democrats to wring more money out of Americans who are working and productive.  It would be much better than beating up flight attendants, and other neurotic behaviors.  

I see that Biden's press secretary is under attack for perhaps violating the Hatch Act from the podium.  Would love to see her removed from her position as liar for the President.

I bought my first house in the Carter years.  Because the interest rates were changing so fast, they wouldn't lock in your mortgage interest rate until the day you closed.  We had a cap on our house offer that if the interest rate went above 15.5% we wouldn't close.  I saw it as high as 17%.  Thankfully, it eventually went down and we refinanced.  Those were hairy days.

You know, that is a choice I really can't answer.  Yes, I think Biden and his policies and his decisions are ruining the country; but, although I liked most of Trump's policies and thought he was right about a lot of things, I'm not sure if the country could have withstood another 4 years of his personality and narcissism.  He was much worse towards the end of his Presidency than he was in the beginning.  Biden is a disaster and I really don't think either one were fit to be President for different reasons.  I don't think Biden is going to be able to do as much damage as it looked like he would, at least I hope not.  

I think they all have a certain amount of evil - they are all too willing to lie and justify and pretend that things are much better than they are.  I don't see Biden being able to handle the rise of China, as quickly as it seems to be coming.  He fancies himself a statesman, which he isn't.  I don't think he understands crap about economics, and I have been surprised at Janet Yellen embracing his economic plans- as Fed Chair, I would have expected her to be more grounded in reality. All of his cabinet picks seem to be unable to deal with reality and are dismissive of reality.  While Biden's Press Secretary seems to think that the Supply Chain problems are merely "rich people's problems" and will go away once they unload the container ships, they haven't yet dealt with how they are then going to move the stuff.  Basic logistics. 

I like what Condoleeza Rice said yesterday - that all those people who have BTDT, it's time for them to go, and let's go forward.  Until we get rid of people in their 70s and 80s trying to run a country, we're going to be mired in this.  Let's face it, this isn't the time of FDR, nor the time of LBJ when we could afford as many give aways as they are trying to push, but it is also not the time for bullying in the world.
