He was endorsed by Andrew Yang, a socialist whacko who ran gainst Biden in 2020. Yang held a fundraiser for Christie.  That the media called this "bolstering" Christie's campaign tells you exactly how out of touch the media, including FoxNews, is with the GOP base.  Christie has zero chance of getting the nomination, with or without Trump in the mix.
