I fished the northern end of the lake Saturday morning with limited results. I planned on fishing from first light till mid-afternoon but when I arrived at City Docks I was met with an 80 boat tournament plus all the locals so I retreated to the ramp behind the college. There was a small club tournament (15 boats) putting in there so I waited my turn and got started just after first light. I went downriver a few miles and started with topwater around wind blown points and blowdowns with zero hits. I started swimming plastics in and around grass beds with a few dinks. I switched to a texas rigged watermelon/red finesse worm and started getting bit quite regularly but nothing that would keep. I worked my way through a maze of boats to the other side of the river and started pitching a wooly hog in watermelon and caught my first and only keeper for the day, a 2.5 pd spot. I called it a day around 2pm. Has anybody found fish on the north end of the lake? It has been tuff to say the least here lately. You would think the changing weather and falling water temps that the fish would be gourging for winter. All the boats on the water and nobody catching many fish? I will say that if all the dinks that I have been catching lately make it to maturity, we will have one well stocked lake! Buddy buddyl91@earthlink.net
