21 June 2011 - Lake Guntersville –Is there a better way to spend the first day of summer, than fishing Lake Guntersville? Nope. I had the pleasure of fishing with a couple guys from East Tennessee today partly as a father’s day gift and partly as a pre-tournament trip. We fished in the mid lake area, focusing on back channel road beds, shell beds, and ledges catching lots of good quality fish on every stop, working 8-15 FOW. Water temps are steady at low to mid 80’s. Our better fish came on Lucky Craft Sammy’s and Tightline Football Head Jig’s (Guntersville Special and Black/Blue). Most of the fish are still in the 2-3.5 pound range with a few 4-5 pound fish in the mix. There is some areas where the grass is starting to top out and others that are very close to toping out, July should be an all out frog/rat bite. There is still a good top water bite early in the day. Guntersville producing some of the best action we’ve scene this year. I have days available in June and I'm already booking days for the July and August, make your reservations now for some great summer time action on Guntersville and Nickajack. We supply all fishing gear, lures, and drinking water at no additional cost to you and 110% dedication to making your trip successful. Make your reservations now for some great action on Tennessee River. “Let’s go fish’ in”
