Why did they flood Lake Wiess, so Gasdens Mall would not get hurt. Looked at the city and lakes around it. Shows it to be 5.5 feet below summer pool (Post by corps).

Just look back at some of the articles about the fight to keep the lake levels higher during the winter.  Several times the Corps of engineers has responded that Weiss was established for flood control and power generation.  So as far as they are concerned it is doing just that. Never mind that we are the ones being flooded!

You are right, It is just easy to forget how high the water can get when it has been so low for so long.

This forum seem to pretty much be abandoned. Now the water is receding from the all time record high water of 571.1' This time it got me too. 2015 flood when this post was started did not get in my camper. Let's see if anyone even sees this. take care all.
