Shortly before midnight, Marine One arrested a suspect near the Pine Harbor Marina while on anti-theft patrol. A suspicious vessel was stationary near the marina, a location of a previous theft, and was occupied by four white males. None of the individuals possessed valid drivers or marine licenses and one suspect continued to give false information to the Marine One Operator, Chief Greg Turley. The suspect was subsequently arrested and found to have active warrants with Childersburg Police Department and Pell City Police Department.
The suspect was transported to the St. Clair County Jail by PCPD and the vessel was returned to port. The other three individuals were picked up by a relative that possessed a valid license. No stolen property was located on the vessel.
During this night-shift patrol, Marine One made 5 contacts, issued 4 warnings, conducted 1 search, identified 1 suspicious vehicle at a community boat launch, and made one arrest.
