Since this seems to happen every year....

Please be sure to take a few minutes to secure your pets over this coming weekend. There are a number of folks that do their own fireworks and there always seems to be a rash of lost dogs the next day.

The noise freaks them out and they run for cover. A lot of people are visiting and sometimes the dogs have collars with i.d. on them and other times they don't. Be sure your dog has his rabies tag as the vet's office will be on there and the number on that tag will make it easy to identify your pet.

Both of our dog's have i.d. tags with their name and our contact number. I know that there are differences in opinion as to whether you should have your dog's name on the tag...

Hope everyone has a safe 4th of July and that no one loses a beloved pet.

I would also recommend that if you do lose your pet, not only post on here, but call the local vets and let them know. That is how we reunited a few in the past couple of years - by calling the vet in Dadeville.
