You can get a no wake zone in you slough. All you have to do is cut down about ten large trees, either trees you want to get shed of or from an island. Tow the trees to the slough where you don't want wakes, and anchor them strategically so that boats cannot go fast around them. Then get several blue plastic drums and paint "SLOW SNAKE HABITAT" on them.

The trees serve several purposes. The slow boater and jet skiers. They make people not want to come to your slough. They attract fish.
