28 May 2011 - Lake Guntersville –I was joined today by Gus and his son Zach from the Harrison Bay area of Chattanooga TN, for a day on Lake Guntersville. We started the morning out with a heavy fog at the launch ramp, so I ideal out to a main channel point and found the fog had lifted on the main channel. First, stop we found no less than eight boats fishing in the area. So, we took an outside ledge. After about 30 minutes none of the boat had caught anything and started leaving. We moved in on the sweet spot and Zach started wacking them right off the bat and continued for most of the morning. As the sun broke through we moved to the mattresses and caught them some more! Water temps are steady at 76 to 81 degrees. Our better fish came on Tightline Football Head Jig’s (Guntersville Special), t-rigged brush hogs, shaky heads and Assassinator Spinnerbaits and plastics. Schools of fish starting to stage in a early summer pattern on road beds and ledges, but don’t give up on the shallow top water, morning or late evening bite! Most fish are still in the 1-3 pound range with a couple 4-5 pound fish in the mix. I can’t think of a better way to start the Memorial Day Weekend than today’s trip. Ya’ll be safe out there over this holiday weekend. I have a few days available this month. I'm already booking days for the June and July, make your reservations now for some great late spring/early summer time action on Guntersville and Nickajack. We supply all fishing gear, lures at no additional cost you and 110% dedication to making your trip successful. Make your reservations now for some great action on Tennessee River. “Let’s go fish’ in”
