12-14 May 2011 - Lake Guntersville – The past 3 days, we have had a group of guides fishing with Coach Huggins, the Head Basketball Coach at West Virginia, Greg Duckworth from the band Taylor Made Country, www.taylormadecountry.com and several of their close friends have been fishing with us as a group out of Waterfront. We all had great outings catching plenty of fish. All of us are throwing soft plastic baits, Swim baits, with top water early, Jigs and some Spinner Baits. Today, after the West Virginia gang departed I was joined by a returning client Bob Tolar, from Birmingham, AL. All three days caught lots of fish on every stop. Bass are moving to the grass areas following the shad that are gathering near the ledges. Most fish where in the 2-3 pound range with several 4-6 pound fish in the mix. Water temps are steady at 76 to 79 degrees as of this afternoon. Our better fish came on Tightline Football Head Jig’s (Black/Blue) and t-rigged Brush Hogs and Assassinator Spinnerbaits and plastics. We are seeing a top water bite both early morning and late afternoon on Assassinator buzz baits, www.assassinatorbaits.com and Pop-R’s. The frog/rat bite is slowly starting when the sun gets up, in the areas that have duck weed and lily pads starting to emerge. I have a few days available this month. I'm already booking days for the June and July, make your reservations now for some great late spring/early summer time action on Guntersville and Nickajack. We supply all fishing gear, lures at no additional cost you and 110% dedication to making your trip successful. Make your reservations now for some great action on Tennessee River. “Let’s go fish’ in”
