Believe it or not, Alabama has a wine trail. Wife and I have visited three of the eight that are currently participating in the trail events. At each stop they will stamp your "trail passport" and when you visit the last one you get a wine glass bearing the logo of each one. Morgan Creek is one of the seven, and the place is pretty impressive, the winery is not that old but very nice. The other two we visited were Vizzini Farms Winery in Calera, just off I 65, and Perdido Vinyards, about 45 miles north of Mobile just off I 65. Perdido was the first legal winery in the state of Alabama, not near as fancy, but had some good wines. I think most of your winery's in Alabama are gonna be using muscadine or scuppernong and not concord grapes due to the climate, although some of them do import some grapes to make some of your more traditional chardonnay's and merlot's. Also one in Clanton, one in Anniston, and maybe one in Gadsden.
Now you know everything I know about wine, it's time for a beer.
