The 10 years is a maximum term to avoid another Hoover.  The head of the FBI serves at the pleasure of the President and has no special privilege.  Regardless of who hired him, the FBI under Wray has been a disaster of politicization and he should and will be fired on day one.  That you think he should stay to avoid what happened under his watch is proof that you only get your news from dinosaur media.
