agreed, we've had them too, for the first time ever. From what I have read, this dry weather has them seeking out new areas, thus all of the yard work. We treat for insects in our lawn but that hasn't stopped the armadillos. My best results have come from 10 PM walks with my 22. Their shells are pretty tough and I think they carry a lot of fat so I would advise to shoot for the head. I am all about being a good steward of the environment and its occupants, but armadillos are not native to this area so I don't feel bad about helping control their population.
