hello you must keep the crud of your tunes by pulling your pontoon out and getting the outside and inside clean prest lake has a high content of calcium and some lime which causes very hard concentration acumulation on your toons it takes products and a very good pressure washer to remove the cust that attaches to the toons the lower priced washer do not work well for this project ive been around boats all my life and different types of water with cleaner toons your speed will increase for a period of time hears another tid bit water boyancy can also cause a difference in performance i clean pontoons for folks no i do not buff toons and can pull up to 33 ft tri toon out and back for mechanical service last line impellers shoud be checked every 2 or 3 years and lower units should be cheched yearly thank you have a good day  and happy boating
