moving to Chattanooga

Hi all....i am moving to Chattanooga in Feb....i can't seem to get a feel for the lake area....is the shoreline rock....sand....inbetween....what is a good size boat foe the lake and rivers....i have a 23 foor maxum right now....is that big enough....do more people boat the rivers or on the lake....any good places to eat by boat....which marina do you think is the best....thanks in advance....Chip Cecil
