Does anyone know how to get rid of Spam Risk callers?  I am on the Do Not Call Registry but it doesn't seem to stop them.  We get 3-4 calls per day.

If you don't recognize the #, don't answer the call!  Turn off your answering machine for a few days after letting important people know.  We discontinued our land line for that exact reason!  If you do answer it, give a few choice words, that helps sometimes!??

Definitely agree with your first sentence. I do leave the option open for an unknown caller to leave a VM, else I might miss an unexpected , yet important call. If you do answer an unknown call and they ask you if they are speaking with (your name),  DO NOT say yes, because they can then patch your "yes" to some other question that commits you to something you never really agreed with. If they ask me "Is this is (my name), I answer with "who is calling?"  That way if it is legit I dont miss it, but if it is bogus I just hang up.

On the iphone, I block the caller. Last year received call about auto warranty. Blocked it and received call next day from different  number but same company.  Blocked it and this went on for 7 days with  each call a different  number. Finally,  they ran out of numbers as i have not received  a call for over a year.

As to  the landphone,  we dropped it last year. Had Spectrum and they had a program to stop unwanted calls. It worked quite well.

If you pick up the phone, don't play games yeling as they may know more about you...address, name.etc and you know nothing about them.

When  I  do pick  up by mistake, Whatever they are selling....."Thanks  for calling...my wife bought that yesterday,  wish you had called earlier. Take care and stay safe. Goodbye.

Remember, you control  the call.

Three very good ideas.  Thanks.
