Great day of fishing. Water temp 53. Overcast with early fog this morning. Air temp was upper 60s. i fished mostly upper and middle near main portion of lake where humps and ledges were located. Water is clearing but still stained in this area. Fish were schooling on the ledges of these humps in 20-30 feet of water. Vertical spoon jigs and casting flutter spoons in these areas produced a good mix of spotted bass and white bass averaging 1-2 pounds. i tried crankbaits and flipping jigs earlier in the day around docks and rocks but that wasn't too productive. if you don't have a good map with contour lines get insight genesis subscription. Best investment i made to find these areas using the social map download.

Feb 27 weekend air temp was a little bit cooler.   The water was still stained in some areas but starting to clear up. Main lake humps north of Blue Creek were not holding much fish. I cruised up Manoy and found significant numbers of baitfish. After I marked them, I started throwing flutter spoons and landed a few 5 pound stripers. I also grabbed a couple of spotted bass. The water temperature was 57°. Maybe they're starting their migration into the spawn beds.
