Wish I could but am still a GA resident.  I own a wakeboard boat and this will never impact me  because I never wakeboard or wakesurf near any docks (my personal choice).  One of the great things about living in Sandy Creek.  But I recognize that this isn't possible in many other areas as they are far more developed.  However, staying 200 feet when generating a large can be done anywhere on the lake.

I assume you are aware that Oliver, along with Robbins and Stubbs, is cosponsoring HB 208 which will increase the length of boats allowed on the lake from a maximum of 30 ft 6 in to 39 ft 11 inches. The restriction of boat length and speed was passed  in 2006 because of Cigarette type speed boats on the lake. HB 208 is not opening the lake to large speed boats as the limit of speed over 60 mph is still limited to boats of 26ft 11 inches or less.

I have always been of the opinion that the larger the boat the more wake they produce and the wave action is tougher on the integrity of the shoreline.

While I no longer have a boat on the lake, the restriction of length made Lake Martin a special lake over the past 18 years.
