My guess is they are trying to get ahead of the tropical storm that is projected to leave 5-7" of rain in centra Alabama, maybe less in the Lake Martin watershed, but plenty anyway so a preemptive release now might solve flooding problems later...plus it is free electricity!

   Nice narrative...don't believe it.   This is the year for 10 foot vs 7 drawdown.  It will happen sooner than expected, due to anticicaption rather than realitiy. Hang on, be happy for what we have.....think we'll be done with normal levels by mid July.

What are you talking about, 68GTShelby? The day you posted this the level was 490.2. The highest it had been all year was 490.6, about four weeks ealier.

Five days after your post, the level is exactly the same: 490.2.

Your comment about "the 'woke' folks" is dumber than your question about the lake level.

How you handling this "huge drawdown" Shelby? Is your boat still in the water? Did you at least get to see the fireworks by boat, or was it already too low for that?
