In a self defense situation, you shoot to live. If he lives it is law suits and/or years of public support in jail and when he is released he has a grudge against the victim with the possibility of revenge. He is still a danger to you and your family. What ever happend to the perp is his choice! That is an occupational hazard that he chose. What have you heard from Ted Bundy lately?

I agree that there is only one option for self defense.  The ammo in question is designed to inflict maximum damage while reducing collateral damage to a minimum.  It basically expends every bit of its energy in about 6-7 inches and instead of one or two wound channels, inflicts hundreds.  In other words, it kills the he!! out of what you are shooting at with practically no chance that the round will exit your target and inflict undesired damage on a loved one or innocent bystander.

One of the videos I saw had the round shot into an average sized watermelon and the watermelon absolutely exploded, but the round did not exit the far end.

The test was also done by another individual using ballistic gel (which I guess simulates flesh), but the gel was covered with four layers of denim, an accepted standard for testing that simulates clothing a bullet might have to go through on its way to its target...That test showed the bullet did not explode like in the watermelon....supposedly the denim threw the round off its optimimum trajectory and it acted as a more normal round would.

Dead men don't travel too well unless in the back of a looong Cadillac.
