It seems that California is so upset about Trunp's winn that they are proposing to succeed from the U S! Considering the rampant loonacy out there it might be a good idea. However I am sure they would immediately apply for foreign aid!

I think that is a great idea. So when the big earthquake comes and they slide off into the ocean we won't have to worry about them.

I can appreciate why Alabama residents would support California seceding as Alabama schools would then automatically move  from 46th to 45th place even with a D+ rating.

Don't forget that the Alabama poor school situation is the direct responsibility of the AEA UNION.  The AEA UNION, under the supervision of the AL DIMOKRAP PARTY for over 60 years created that monster.  Have you seen the info where the new Republican appointed State School Superintendent has found the AEA UNION has been falsifying graduation rates in AL?  Gotta clean up the DIMOKRAP train wreck...

so democrats can destroy for 136 years - and 6 years later its those rascally republicans fault.  LOL

For much of the next four decades, Hubbert was widely considered the most powerful political figure in the state, and he ruled with an iron fist. Hubbert was known for sitting in the gallery overlooking the Legislature and giving hand signals indicating which way he wanted lawmakers to vote on whatever bill was being considered.

But the group’s stranglehold on the state began to loosen in 2010 when Alabama voters elected Republicans to their first legislative majority in 136 years. Hubbert retired in 2011, but the organization he built continued to be a major player in state politics, at least for a period of time.

Conservatives had long viewed the AEA as the “Dark Side” in Alabama politics, and not only because of its liberal political leanings (both Hubbert and Reed were top officials in the Alabama Democratic Party), but also because the state’s education system continued to rank 49th or 50th year after year, in spite of the AEA’s total control.

But Hubbert, who passed away in 2014, was considered to be a gentleman, even by his opponents, as well as a savvy operator. However, the Dark Side got its Darth Vader when Dr. Henry Mabry became Hubbert’s successor in 2012.

Under Mabry’s leadership, the AEA’s standing took a sharp nosedive, compelling Hubbert to pen a letter to the AEA Board of Directors urging them to make a course correction.

Mabry was ultimately pushed out, but not before the 2014 election cycle, during which the AEA spent an estimated $20 million of teachers’ money on a disastrous election strategy that resulted in almost no victories for the embattled organization. Their scorched earth tactics included funneling millions of dollars through “dark money” groups that posed as conservatives and spread propaganda against Republican candidates.

They will never slide off into the ocean - they will be working on the environmental impact studies and it can not happen without appropriate paperwork.

Just think of the wetlands, dry lands and animals that would be inconvenienced if it slid off into the ocean,  now if they want to split Cali up and break up those 55 electoral votes BE MY GUEST!!!!

The education situation in Alabama is no joking matter. The parents of this state need to hold the state government responsible for the state of the education system and held accountable for them taking/cutting funds to the schools.  I find it utterly horrifying.  I don't know how any of these officials (and parents) can expect the students from this state to succeed either in college or in life.  I don't have grandchildren in this school system.

No - the education situtation in Alabama is the butt of the joke perpetrated on the kids of Alabama by the state government.

I do not see where I was indicating the education system was a joking matter - now my comments about the impact studies on if California would slide off I thought you might find funny from the government red tape / white paper discussions, and of course anything by GF who decided to equate earth quakes and natural disasters to the train wreck that is Alabama education and who may have caused it - because it is anything but natural - that is one place where the results are 100% man made.

"of course anything by GF who decided to equate earth quakes and natural disasters to the train wreck that is Alabama education and who may have caused it"

Here is what I posted…. "I can appreciate why Alabama residents would support California seceding as Alabama schools would then automatically move  from 46th to 45th place even with a D+ rating."

Now, please explain how I equated quakes to Alabama schools? You like to pull stuff out of the air....Phillsie the King of Fake Posts......

Having him on the lake must drag down propery values - people thinking it might be caused by something in the water or having to remind people not to go up in that swampy looking slew where old man goofball lives.

You are making some good points and adding value to the thread. The fact remains if California, Ny, and MA seceded, Alabama would automatically move up to 43nd place for education from 46th.  No quakes required dude..... Join Bubba fishing and drinking a few beers and don't be so uptight....

Happy New Year!!!!!

You called me the king of fake news - I pointed out where are an idiot and then you tell me to have a beer and chill.... You really are a special kind of liberal and if maybe your lot slid off into the lake we would be one step closer to never electing a socialist or liberal, thus getting rid of the Department of Education on the federal level or at maybe overhaul it into something that has a chance at being affective - but probably not since it is bogged down with standardized testing and whitepapers.

We spend a small fortune on a war on poverty, drugs and education and all are getting worse.  The common thread is that the government decided to declare war on it.

To be honest I can understand why people put you on ignore, drink up its going to be a long 4+ years.
