I live in the Ridge and lately we have been having a problems with my Comm Link internet service.
We have the 20 mg service and have speeds around 20 during the week but on some weekends it drops to less than 5. Right now it's 2.95.

Does anyone else in the Windermere or Ridge area have this issue?

I just have the basic 3 / .5  which shows to be on target right now.  I have checked it often for the last month or so.  We have sporadic problems, and just recently had a modem replaced.  Something has happened in the last year that causes degradation, and I do not think the issue is in my lines or equipment.

Have you noticed that it occurs only on the weekends?  I also know it is not my equipment. The problem  has to do with their system.

Cable internet shares bandwidth. If a provider is trying to save money, they will overload a neighborhood or area and this causes a problem during peek times....the more folks that are online, the slower your connection will be.

Mc Gill is rght. The cable company provides aset bandwidth and users comete fr tat bandwidth. Middle f the day i the middle f the week and you have it amst to yourself. Nights and weekeds you have considerably more competitin for that badwidt. We have Charter, and as long as you don't have to call them for aything they are OK. I just did a test on Speakeasy and have 13.95mb down and 3.16mb up. BTW, we are on the north shore in Parker Creek.

I thought it was one of those "if you can read this it shows that your minds just makes up what people are trying to tell you"

On the other hand, it might have been a spike in your bandwidth.

...those old Royal typewriters can be pretty tricky...

I always liked to watch those big long arms swing from far left or far right, and strike that page with a letter.  And that bolt action carriage return.  Now, that was a stress reliever.  Good thing about those old typewriters is you set your own "bandwidth"

Can't use that excuse because at that time of day nothing had been "spiked" yet....

Last year Com-Link was right on for me, 5/512K.  This year so far they are terrible.  I had a modem zapped by lightening a few weeks ago and since then with new modem it slows to a crawl. I hate that there is no other service available in my area.  I don't have cable tv and depend on internet for VOIP telephone and for streaming thru my ROKU.  Had no problems last year streaming.  Now this year so far can hardly stream anything.  Had Windstream DSL a few years ago and they were worse.

Keep calling to complain.  Several years ago same thing happened and I called every day.  They finally made improvements then but it's bad again.

If you notice on their primitive website they make no guarantee about the speeds and claim "Best Effort"
