Are there any Alabama Power -- or Tallapoosa County -- regulations regarding placing a very large, ugly outdoor shed close to the lake? This is in an area with no HOA.

Some people have absolutely no taste.

Good grief.

Usually - even if it is not in a platted neighborhood, Alabama Power setbacks still apply. Most of the time it's 30 feet from the shoreline. That means if anything is built within 30 feet of the shoreline, however that is defined in the lot's surrvey, they must get AP approval. There are some exceptions around the lake but they are very very rare.

I recently spoke to someone at APCO to find out what is allowed and not allowed to be built within the 30-foot easement. I was told that non-habitable structures can be built and do not encroach on the easement.

I've known that for decades, but I am NOT a real state "profressional" and find time spent arguing one to be time wasted.

But I have bought (3) and sold (4+ a couple of joint owned family properties) for a total of 7+ real estate transaction, but I have NEVER paid a real estate commision.  Funny how that works out, huh?

And the 30-foot easement is only on properties/lots that were formerly owned by Alabama Power. There is no Alabama Power easement on properties/lots formerly owned by Russell Lands.
