When I am in the car, I lsiten to a variety of news broadcasts. There is a lot being said about China that is not on the national news, and most of it centers on China and what they are up to. Even if only half of it is true, it's distrubing and worrisom. After Biden jumped on the limb and immediately said we would defense Taiwan if China attacked, now they are walking back. They didn't publicly support the Speaker meeting with the President of Taiwan, nothing about the bloccade that China is attempting to do around Taiwan, nothing about China's vast increase in their nuclear capability and their threat to the US on Taiwan. The news is not reporting much on the role Xi has taken up in the MIddle East, and his visit to France and Macron. Journalists are not reporting on what is being done to our military - being treated as a social experiment instead of a premier fighting force. Also, NK is threatening us with a nuclear attack. They aren't talking about how dependent we are on getting electronic parts from Taiwan. They aren't paying attention to what is going on internationally, and it does not appear that the old fool iin the WH is concerned in the least.
Earlier this year, Biden went to the oil producers and asked that they increase production - instead they voted to decrease production. In the past, Saudi Arabia tried to support the US, and all of us reember that during the Trump years, we were much less dependent on foreign oil. Now they laugh at us.
Our country is in grave condition. The vast majority of Americans don't know about economics to ask the hard questios. They don't know enough about national security to ask the hard questions. One opinion piece I read suggested that as long as people had their phone and their internet connection, it wouldn't matter to them if our country collapsed.

Your concern is well-founded. The world is full of grown-up playground bullies who smell weakness and will pounce on it. The President is in that office for many reasons, not the least of which is to say to those bullies "mess with me and I will whip your a s s. If it were to come to that the bully might end up winninf, but won't risk it because the cost of winning is too high.
Probably the most worrisome is the little dictator from North of the 38th parallel. He has the least to lose because he has essentially nothing and care not one whit about his people.
So we face an existential threat, and no it is not climate change, and we are all wrapped up in an attempt to keep the people from deciding who the next president will be. And can you believe it, the Biden debacle is trying to say Afghanistan is all Trump's fault? Never mind, we both know that answer.
So to all those who say they will never attack and if they do they will never defeat the US, just remember: there is a first time for everything.

There is a woman who ived during the Mao Revolution in China. She keeps saying that she is seeing the same things happening here that happend in China under Maos revolution. She cites, among other things, the political weaponization of the court system,i.e.what is going on with Trump in NYC. She's witten other things paralleling cancel culture, the policiing of thoughts other than a certain narraitive, the rewriting of history, etc. Making the poor "victims" of a corrupt system. It's all there in Mao's Litte Red Book that he implimented in China. The American people need to wake up.

Funny you would say that. A friend and I had lunch today, and we agreed that it feels like we are waiting for something big.

So true but well worth it. Oh and he is so right and documents bear that out. Not much longer if he is right.
