Does anyone else think that there are too many posts that are just cut and paste? It's one thing to link to an article and provide your comments and thoughts about it. I feel like when I log onto here, I'm just going to see a lot of cut and paste meant to feed paranoia. I don't even think in some cases anyone is asking themselves if it even seems probable or likely that it is true.
In my view, it's interesting to hear what people think about what's being done or said (even when I don't agree). But we all know that there is a segment of the press that is ultra conservative and will always spin a story one way, as well as a segment of the press that is ultra left wing and will spin it another. I can do google searches and find a bunch of both -- but what I'm really interested in is what people think about it.
I like to think that the majority of people do think about these things, have reasons why they feel the way they do. And in my mind, that's what makes for an interesting discussion.

Anybody else?

Hound ... I am on record on this forum that I absolutely HATE these viral posts, whether from the left or the right, that take a kernel of truth and twist into something very far from the TRUTH. I don't like it when Olbermann and Michael Moore do it, and I don't like it when Rush and Beck do it. And I don't like it when those viral e-mails/blogs get posted on this forum and accepted as "facts".

My two cents ....

-I agree with Hound for the most part.
-However,sometimes I like it when a string starts with a clip or quote and we're aasked what we think about it.
-I also find it useful, when after alot of peersonal opinions are rendered, somone places a clip/quote that shows the real facts.
-sooooooo, add my two cents to the kitty.

This forum is one of the few avenues that citizens can use to express their views and also present information that may not have been seen by some of the forum members. Letters to the editor do not have the same privileges as this forum presents. I see nothing wrong with cutting and pasting as long as it addresses the subject.

I see a balance between individual opinions and those conveyed via cut and paste from various media sources and e mails. I have enjoyed seeing some information that I had missed via newspapers or TV. I personally do not plan to change and I hope that other forum members feel the same.

Paranoia is a condition of disillusion, not disagreeing with something you think is wrong and harmful for the country. I don’t see anything wrong if someone finds an interesting article and cuts and paste it for our information. We are not forced to read everything that is posted. I certainly do not.

As usual I need to clarify my post. I also enjoy it when someone posts a sourced article, blogpost, etc to start a conversation. The ones I don't like are the unsourced "facts" that upon an easy review (snopes, etc) turn out not to be factual. I'm always up for honest debate and sharing of facts - I just don't like the dishonest "facts" that are created folks on both the left and right.

My bank account is running low ... so no two cents on this one. :)
