I can't believe that Trump would actually compare losing a son to his "sacrifices". Hope no one supporting Trump lost a son or daughter in Iraq or Afgan.

Donald Trump responded Saturday to criticism from the Muslim father of a fallen soldier, who in an emotional speech at the Democratic National Convention said the billionaire businessman has "sacrificed nothing" for the country.

In an interview on ABC News’ “This Week,” Trump insisted that Khizr Khan, whose son, Humayun, was killed in 2004 by a car bomb in Iraq, was misguided in his criticisms. Trump said he has sacrificed, mostly when it comes to his business dealings.

“I think I’ve made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard. I’ve created thousands and thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures,” Trump said in the interview. “I’ve had tremendous success. I think I’ve done a lot.”

I hope nobody supporting Bob (b!tch of benghazi) lost someone in Libya, or Syria, or Egypt, or France, or Germany or london or Dallas or baton Rouge, or,  we'll I think you get the idea.  You are a smart guy unlike your compatriots on the forum. I just write your liberalism off to growing up in jersey.

Yeah, I get the idea...if it happened anywhere in the world at anytime in the last 20 years and if it was bad it was all Hillary's fault.

Funny how you know so much more than the 6 Republican led investigations of Bengaza.  No presidential candidate in history has had the vetting that Hillary has had.  She has been under the microscope of those who hate her more than sin for over 20 years and she is still walking around a free woman and is, pray to God, the likely next president of the United States.  Where are you planning to move your sorry a$$ to when that happens Lifer?

Well doucheretardo I've NEVER said I would go anywhere if anybody got else Ted.  I will die right here in my little house on Lake Martin.  I survived 8 years of obammy and will survive Bob.  I have a nice compliment of weapons with enough ammo to defend home and family.  She best hope she gets elected because that's the only way she stays out of prison.

I grew up in Jersey, with parents that were registered Republicans.  Don't blame Jersey.

While I can appreciate the man's loss of his son, but I don't think it is fair to say Trump has never sacrified anything.  How would he know?  It's not right to judge someone else's journey.  Mr. Kahn lost his son, along with thousands of other parents.  It doesn't make him unique, and as far as I'm concerned, he was merely used by the Clinton campaign for political purposes. His pain was put on display so Hilary can say she is sensitive to Muslims.  Mr. Kahn deserves better and his son deserves better.  When were the white, Christian and Catholic parents allowed to talk about their loss?

Well, so Trump has "sacrificed"!

Hound, earlier today your guy finally answered Mr Kahn regarding the sacrifice of his son.  The Trumpster said he had sacrificed too.  He had created thousands of jobs and he considered that a sacrifice.  Of course this ''sacrifice'' came with millions of dollars as a nice fringe benefit to the Trumpster.  Hound, please send your guy a dictionary with a paper clip on the ''S'' section!

Also, please think whether you are voting your true convictions.  I have read your posts for 7 years and unless you have had at least a 130 degree course change Trump ain't it!   I'm sure it is not Hillary either, but I don't think it is Trump.  If this election was not so critical and if GA was not looking like a swing state, I would seriously consider the Libertarians.  They are closer to my beliefs than Hillary or trump.

Now, you are right...the Kahns are not unique in losing a son.  But, they are close to unique in that they and their son are all Muslims.  A category that Trump has shamelessly demonized for political gain!!  Are they being used by the Clinton camp?  Of course.  Do you actually think Trump was NOT using the mother of the Bengazi fatality for political gain?! Finally, as for when did the Christians and Catholics get to express their loss....well I have to think most, if not all, the 5 or 6 family members of police officers murdered while doing their duty and that addressed the convention were Christian.

Trump told ABC what he sacrificed...read it:

Trump said he has sacrificed, mostly when it comes to his business dealings.

“I think I’ve made a lot of sacrifices. I work very, very hard. I’ve created thousands and thousands of jobs, tens of thousands of jobs, built great structures,” Trump said in the interview. “I’ve had tremendous success. I think I’ve done a lot.”

A pathetic response.

Well said.  You know, Mr H thinks you and Wix are one in the same.  I have no idea, but I am beginning to think that some imposter has stolen Hound's identity.

It's not a politically correct response.  But maybe he has privately had his losses and tragedies.  Sometimes people just don't want to spill their guts for all the world to see.

I hate to see anyone who is grieving a loss to be put on display for political purposes, whether is is Mr. Kahn, the families of slain officers or when Sharpton and Benjamin use the mothers of dead black men for political gain.  Sometimes I wonder if these people really realize that they are being used.

Architect - I haven't done a 180.  Trump is not my ideal candidate, and I wish that someone else had come out on top.  But the depth of my cynicism about Hilary and Bill Clinton runs very deep.  I think they are both just opportunists, and I really don't think either of them give a damn about this country or helping people.  I honestly feel if they end up back in the WH, it's going to be a dark day for America.  Did we learn nothing about them when he was President?  He was impeached, he degraded the position of President.  I remember when I was working in Washington, when he and Hilary left, there was a collective sigh of relief.  Even she was trying to steal gifts to the country for herself and she had to give a lot of things back.  So then she decides she wants a political career and gets the incumbent from NY to endorse her. She hurries up and buys a house up there.  What right did she have to that seat?  She wasn't a real representative of NY, because she hadn't lived there.  And there was some scandal about how that house was financed.  Then she decides to run against Obama, and was a dismal failure.  And he threw her a political bone (probably because his people got her to drop out of the race) as Secretary of State.  She was not a good Secretary of State.  And now the DNC hands her the nomination, and she pats herself for "breaking a glass ceiling" - but she did nothing to get there.  And if she becomes President, it is just a matter of time until the scandals start again.  And do you think Bill is going to let her be President all by herself.  No, becasue Bill wishes he could have run again.

I have never been one to kiss butt to make people feel better.  I am in fact against taking more refugees into this country when we can't even take care of everyone that is here.  And I do believe that we need to attack the families of ISIS - it is called breaking their will to fight.  You have to hit the enemy where it hurts - and not with words or with diplomacy.  I don't care if innocents are killed, if it breaks the back of ISIS.  And we do have an immigration problem in this country.  Mexico will do nothing to help.  I could go on and on. Yes, I hate when certain social progams get cut, but the truth is right now we just can't afford them.  That is the problem - we keep pretending that everything is okay, but is isn't.  And Hilary will not change that.  If anything, she'll make it worse.

This answers the question...one sacrificed their son and Trump....A proud moment for his supporters.

Last week, during the Republican convention in Cleveland, Trump’s children repeatedly said their father had sacrificed to run for president, particularly in setting aside his successful business operations.

The Clintons are poltical opportunists easily ecclipsed by Donald Trump.

Bill Clinton was and still is a terrible role model and imperfect human being.  He was a very good president... considering all aspects better than Reagan...probably the best since Truman.

The thought that a reasonable person believes killing the innocent family members of our enemy is acceptable and required to destroy their will to fight is frightening.  That is what our enemy has done to us...has it made us want to roll over and throw in the towel.  I used to know a woman now deseased who grew up in England during the blitz.  She believed bombing British cities was the dumbest dscision Hitler ever made.

Well, of course she did.  But the objective is to break the will of the enemy to fight.  Like when we dropped the bombs in Japen to end the war.  Is it tragic? yes.  But you have to hit the enemy where it will hurt.  You need to read of Sun Tsu and some other thoughts about war.  I spent 32 years with the Department of Defense and I can tell you, the "nice guy" tactics we've created make us look weak and uncommitted.  You don't go into a war unless you have decided to do whatever is necessary to win.

I know these things are hard to civilians to accept, but that is what our military planners and strategists will tell you.  We went all out in WWI and WWII and we won.  And we haven't gone all out since and we've lost.

You are both wrong and right about the bombing of Japan.  You are wrong about Japanese attitude near the end of the war.  Exactly 71 years ago today we were bombing Japan into dust but the people's morale was still strong and not broken...indeed they were gearing up to fight to the final man, woman and child against the expected American invaders.  71 years ago this August 6 we dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima and another a couple of days later on Nagasaki.  From that point on you are right...their will to fight was finally broken.  I suspect a few thermo-nuclear devices on Syria and Iraq might have a similar effect on ISIS!!  And Donald Trump is just the kind of guy who would gladly push the launch button!!

You misunderstood what I said. I realize that Japan was committed to the war, until we dropped the bombs and broke their will to fight. That is my point.  You break the will of the enemy, you make them stop fighting.  Do bad things happen to innocent people?  Yes.  But until you make it personal, they won't.  ISIS thinks they can fight forever, as long as they have money and recruits.

OK, let's go nuclear...that'ill show 'em!  Then again maybe it might be less disruptive to humanity to cut off their ''money and recruits''.

And how do you propose we do that?  Through diplomacy?  Say please tell us where you are getting your money?  Cut off the recruits by teaching them that growing carrots is more moral than fighting for their religion?  These for the most part are people who are uneducated or have only been educated in the madrassa.  They have no freaking idea about the United States or it's people except what has been drummed into their heads.  Sometimes I think that Americans fail to realize that Islam is a way of life for these people. Very different than the U.S.  They don't go out for a beer with their pals and talk sports. They go to coffee houses and talk about how the U.S. is responsible for every bad thing that has ever happened.

I once spent a dinner with a Pakistani who was literally convinced that Muslims and Hindus could never live in the same country together.  He believed this to his core.  And he wouldn't be reasoned with.  These people are true believers, and nothing will change their mind.

I do not say nuke them.  But if you drop conventional bombs on their population centers it will get their attention.  They have already attacked us and make attacks on Western targets, killing innocent people.  They do this because they know we don't have the stomach to return the favor.  Instead peole put on their white hats and say "we don't do that.  That's not who we are".  But in fact they only laugh at us and think we are weak.
