Under the "community information" link on the boltoncove.com website is a form to fill in your information. It asks you to check your price range. The choices are 700-800, 800-900, 900-1 million, over 1 million. It will be very interesting to see if Russell can get that kind of money for off-water property in a cove.

I received some marketing literature on Bolton Cove about 2 weeks ago from Russell Lands and the info included an architectural rendition of the proposed property along with a brief overview. Pool, sandy beach, clubhouse, boat valet, and year round yard maintenance, etc. Wonder what the annual maintenance fee is?
In addition, they included a postcard with the same questions in regards to pricing, after reviewing said literature I chuckled and filed it accordingly, in file 13.
Especially after filling out a similiar pricing postcard on the Baywoods subdivision in terms of lot pricing, interest, etc. and guess what I never received one phone call or letter from Russell stating the lots had gone on the market. Found out from a neighbor they all sold in about 2 weeks. Guess they did not need my money, LOL.

In the last week, I have checked it out by boat and land. I personally would not want any part of it. Hard to fathom they will be able to squeeze 25 places there along with the other amenities. They have placed a huge and elaborately painted sign on the public right of way at the intersection of 259 and 20. It is close to hunting season,. so maybe the sign will soon be riddled. The sign and the development will both add to some of the other eye sores around the Lake.

Boat valets? God help you all who choose to hang around to see the lake turn into a place that caters to those who want boat valets..
If future generations wonder exactly when Lake Martin went to h*ll in a handbasket, a good answer would be "Fall, 2006."

Ha, ha. Everything about this development conjures up visions of clueless rich fools from Hotlanta with sparkling new oversized boats they never learned to operate. Those with existing cabins in that cove better line their docks and boats with lots of oversized bumpers!

seems someone has the green monster on his shoulder. what makes you think it is all hotlanta folks destroying the lake? it seems there are just as many birmingham and northerners coming too!! big boats are not the problem, it is the kind of boats and the ego behind the wheel. all boats should be welcomed on the lake, as all people should be welcomed. shouldn't we share what god has given us? we just need to educate and have patience for the ones who need it. i'm sure in your younger day you were not all that knowledgeable or were you born with a silver boat in your hand. as for Russell, you might not like them, but if it was not for them your place would not be worth half of what it is worth now, so carry that to the bank.

Hi Jim, You are partially right but missed by a few miles. Bolton Cove is not where the old rental Russell Cabins were located. Bolton Cove is at the end of a slough/cove/inlet/sleugh/mud hog wollow or whatever is correct for this week's Forum teminology. The Bolton Cove area appears not to of had habitat since maybe the Indians two hundred years ago.
A different development is tearing down a lot of the old rental cabins. I guess none of us on the Forum are sure of this development's name.
Then there is a third development (by Wateredge, LLC), who is developing across from Veazey's Marina.

No Shaker, no green monster, I'm just commenting on the apparently unusual target market for Bolton. For 700K to a million bucks there are many properties one can buy on Lake Martin that actually have waterfrontage with great views and will be sure to double in 5 or 10 years. I don't believe Bolton Cove appreciation will keep up. Only someone unfamiliar with Lake Martin and impressed with their own ability to buy "luxury" will be attracted. And I thank Russel for nothing. I'd prefer my property be worth much less, since that means I could have afforded to buy a nicer property when I traded up. My lake property value makes interesting coversation for guests but ultimately is meaningless numbers on paper as I have no intention of ever cashing out.

No Sir, I am well away from it. My slough is pretty well settled, and I hope there is no inclination for development. It is all former APCO property. I guess there are no guarantees. You would have to leave any of the three new places and proceed all the way thru the Narrows and further to get to my place.
There maybe more traffic on 20 East, but it would have to be significant to out number the deer and turkey in the road.
How do you stand in your neck of the woods?

Yeah JIM, I do recall some anxiety and frustration on the part of BAJ at one point. I never was sure of the reason. I do not know how you give one property and then withdraw the deed to the property. (Not saying I know it could not be done.) I guess rights to rental of the property for life might be a different story. Either way, one would have to think the giftee would off been aware of the restriction(s).
Was it deeded to or rights to rental provided the retiree (I assume it was Russell retirees?)???

We're in Sandy and I believe just about all the undeveloped land is owned by APCO. All's quiet for now, hope it stays that way.

Surely, feb, you're not actually treating one of Jim's posts as factual? I can assure you that Russell Lands doesn't give their property away, under any circumstances. And as for BAJ implying that they did (and then took the property back) I challenge you to find that post.
I confess to having no idea what Jim is talking about regarding retirees; in fact, I'm only assuming that that's what he meant by "retireses."

I gather you are indicating I should be barking up another tree????

Tell us, oh oracle of all knowledge, what a bulldozed cabin has to do with:
1. cabins being given to retirees 2. cabins then being taken away.
How you got "theRussell cabins were given to retireses. When they passed it was taken back" from what happened to BAJ's cabin (which was a RENTAL; look it up if you don't know what it means) is beyond me; maybe if I sniffed a lot of glue and then rammed my unprotected head into a brick wall a few hundred times I might be able to understand your version of "logic."
So sad that you're using oxygen that could be utilized by an actual living being instead.

OK, Brain Damage, have someone read this one to you slowly so that even you can understand.
I never said BAJ's old cabin wasn't bulldozed; in fact, as you pointed out, I made a post that said that exact same thing. THAT'S NOT THE ISSUE. What I'm asking you-- and what you seemingly do not have the mental acuity or, more likely, the courage to answer-- is HOW does bulldozing a cabin translate to "theRussell cabins were given to retireses. When they passed it was taken back."
Who said anything about Russell cabins being GIVEN to anyone (besides you?) Who mentioned retirees (besides you?)
Answer those questions. Oh wait, you can't, because all of the "information" in your previous post was nothing more than a bunch of stuff that you made up. So answer this question instead: Why did you lie? Are you so ashamed of being ignorant, uneducated and cowardly that you feel the need to make stuff up in order to impress people? If so, you need another plan; this one isn't working.
