We are (hopefully) within a month of FINALLY finishing repairs on our house and will be moving in sometime in December or the first of January. I commute to BHM for work several days a week and, while the pups are used to being on their own all day, I'm considering having someone come in and check on them during the day. Plus, I'll be needing someone for those times when I have to travel out of town for work. We have 3 dogs (one of them a 160 lb English Mastiff), usually one of our adult children house/pup sit, but when we move this will no longer be an option. I would prefer not to board if at all possible, but will if I have to. We're in the Co Rd 34 area close to Still Waters. Any suggestions?

You may want to check with our friend Rhonda, 205-515-4993. She recently retired and moved to Alex City, she is looking for some part time work. Very Trustworthy.

If you can't find a sitter I would try Southern Star Farms. We have had great experience there. Our dog always bounds out of the car when we get there and heads in the door to the special place where they keep treats for new arrivals. They are really unusually good people that take great care with your animals. This is not a run of the mill boarding operation but actually a working Alpaca farm. These folks have and investment in the community. Surprisingly reasonable too.

Rick is right-on. We have used them numerous times and they are beyond compare. I believe one of the owners, Amber, is a Vet. Any dog they board has to be up to date with their shot records. If your dogs are close to each other, they will use the same cage area for bedding. They have a very large run area. Go by and check them out.

Wow! Thanks guys! I didn't realize there would be so many people that could help out. We are looking forward to moving and hope to make some new friends since we'll be living there year round. Hopefully, I can find someone who is not too intimidated by our giant pup :) He's still growing and should top out at about 180-200 lbs, so we need someone who is comfortable with big dogs...of course, the weenie dog usually keeps him in line ...
