I had some contractors working that went up for lunch. Reviews not good. Any restaurant consultants in the forum? Be nice to save this one....

Here's what I posted in May.
Sorry folks, but I can't endorse this place. We arrived at 6:00 this past Saturday and the cooks, wait staff and owners (I think) were sitting outside at the smoke bucket, using it. There was not other vehicle in customer parking but mine. We (and the above staff) walked in together. The server gave us a menu and IMMEDIATELY asked what we wanted to order (we were the only ones in the place, so no rush, right?) I asked her to give us a minute and she stood by our table and sang along with the CMT video which was blaring from the tv while we looked over the menu.
Unless you like fried food, catfish or red meat, there is nothing there (no beer even, they are waiting on a license). I told my wife we were leaving, but she was embarrassed and ordered a hamburger steak which she said was good. I sat and listened to our waitress roam around the restaurant singing along with CMT (no beer) until my wife finished. I went to the Mexican restaurant and ordered to go, took it home and had some already paid for beer.
I give them til August.

I have been there twice wanting a cold beer and a burger but did not stay either time because the ABC Board in Auburn has yet to act on their liquor license. Given that they have done all that is required of them in seeking licensure, it would seem to me that ABC could certainly speed up their process. It is unfair to a new business (especially in a seasonal market such as LM) to drag the process out unnecessarily. Carlos at the Mexican Restaurant in Dadeville went through the same thing. I would think that some businesses have even gone under while waiting on the ABC guy to get off his duff and expedite things...just my opinion.
