but, at the Coronavirus briefing just finished, what kind of reinforcement of the message the medical community is sending about what has come to be called ''Social Distancing'' is conveyed to the public by a platform jammed packed with people most of whom did not even make one comment? Why were they there, why was it necessary to so obviously thumb a nose at the recommendation all the rest of us are being urged to follow? What confidence is provided when the president is all smiles about the economic relief form the Fed giving into his threats and then going on and continuing to completely contradict the oft stated truth (the very truth given yet again by 3 medical people immediately after the president left) by telling us to ''relax'' and that ''we have this under control''?
Mixed messages are not what the country needs. Already reports are surfacing that people in the strongest red states are intentionally doing things that are exactly opposite of the recommendations of the Coronavirus task force just to show they still think it is a hoax. For most Evangecal churches it was SOP today. They seem to put their faith as much in almighty Trump as in almighty God.
both medically and politically. He knows the nation needs his advice but he also knows if he gets on the wrong side of Trump he is as good gone. He knows he has to first stroke Trumps ego by saying something he did was good in order to be able say what he really needs to say which is in complete contridiction of Trump, and he is smart enough to say it quickly while Trump is still distracted preening his feathers and congratulating himself for receiveing a nod from Fauci.
I put the post on the wrong string. My comment was in response to you post about dr Fauci's praise of Trump for closing the entrance of Chinese citizens to America in a string below (''What a difference 70 years make''). Go read your post then my reply and I think if you are honest with yourself you will say ''good point'' instead of ''huh''.
''None are so blind as those who will not see!'' And anybody that is so biased that they still claim Trump's blathering is having a positive impact on controlling the virus or encouraging the economy is blind.
