Check out Sweden's demographics...They call Finns foreigners.  Unfortunately, they have allowed a few muslims from Irag, Syria, and Afgan to intrude, but I doubt their welfare rolls are close to the USA's list of welfare rats.  Interesting that the author didn't conpare the demographics of Sweden to US....useless article without the welfare factor.

although I would not consider anyone writing for the blog of the Libertarian ''Reason'' Foundation to be completely without an agenda.

I have never been to Sweden nor any of the 5 Scandinavian nations but do see that in 3 polls from sources as diverse as ABC, CNBC and Nat'l Geographic, all 5 are in the 10 nations rated on satisfaction of citizens! Switzerland is the only other country that is in the top 10 in all 3.

The US didn't score in the top 10 on any of them.  Of course I think all 3 were taken after the 2016 election when 54.1% of our own citizens opted not to go in the direction we are now going!

I don't want to or need to.  I'm just waiting 'til 2020 when the American people will vote to kick this idiot back to the penthouse of his brass plated NYC highrise!!

I assume since you are so supportive of Trump and insistant in your belief that he was the ''choice'' of the American people in 2016 (actually he wasn't) you will at least give the benefit of the doubt to the NEW president who actually does have the support of the majority of the citizens when he or she takes office Jan 20, 2021!

   Pragmatism and property rights has always been the underlying philosophy of capitalism. One has an idea and tries it. If it works, expand on it. If not, fix it or scrap it and start over. This catapulted this country to world ledership in prosperity and freedom all in just a little over two hundred years. 

  In contrast the left as always spouted belief in socialisn, liberalism, Comminism or, now, Progressism. Then every time these "isms" are tried resulted in varying degree of failure from hunger to mass murder. (Hitler was an amature) When confronted with these facts - that are usually ignored- they say, "Well, we have just not gotten it right yet! They still cling to these proven failures and will then run you down on the street to brag about what great intelectuals they are! No! They are stupid, stupid, stupid !!!!! If tour theory is badly wrong it cannot be fixed. Think about doing something that works. You might be supprised.

“Progressivism” looks forward only… with little critical study and comprehension of history.  Progressives have failed to understand the “struggle” to be (successfully) human and the difference between fantasy and the realities of the TWO genders.  Because of this misappreciation, progressives aggravate incivility between the sexes… and among cultures.  Progressives engage in a privileged elite thinking that only makes things worse for the common man.

Socialists… and by natural progression, communists… apply 30 second sound bite, utopian ideology to society.  They do this without understanding the history of aggression, greed, power, and cruelty at the hands of those presiding over socialism and communism.  The ONLY way these systems could work is the condition where everyone achieves the pinnacle of Maslow’s hierarchy.  But… as history has proven… benevolent and elite are mutually exclusive and only the elite rise to the top… not as altruists… but as autocratic slave holders of the members of the lower levels of the hierarchy.  Socialists expect the proletariat to pay for their own free lunch… as well as for that of the impoverished.
