A US citizen uses his 1st amendment right to write a whistle blower newspaper editorial which is highly critical of his employer.  The man he works for just happens to be the president of the United States.  That president shouts that person is guilty of TREASON and demands that the newspaper ''Reveal the name of the writer for national security reasons and turn him or her over to the government.''

I'm sure most on this forum will tut tut his response as just another forgivable example of Trump's ''unconventional'' style then rush defend Dear Leader, but that kind of talk from him positively confirms all the worst claims of the opinion piece and should scare hell out of every American!

Considering the mental instability and vileness of the president, I have less problem with that, especially since in the opinion of the man who supposedly did it (one of the few Trump staffers that was not prone to kiss up to Dear Leader) it was for the security of the nation, than with the president calling it treason for a citizen to use their constitutional right to express an opinion and to demand that person be revealed and ''turned over to the government''!  If you have no problem with the authoritarian direction Trump would clearly go if he could, then you are the one walking precariously close to what most Americans would consider treason and it says as much about you as it does about Trump!

Just like with the Schumer rule - keep in mind that Democrats are setting the rules for the next exchange of power.  Now that false information that can be used through the press to help chit pass for authentic intel by backing it up and using the FISA system to spy on the opposition has been set as precedence as well as weaponizing the IRS, FBI and DOJ has become standard protocol, but now you want to introduce an anonymous letter as "proof" Trump is unhinged and is now dictator in Chief?   And as long as you filter the money through enough lawyers it is apparently legal.

Quick question : What president had intel agencies monitor conversations of members of Congress and spied on journalists?  Which president? Of the 13 people who have been prosecuted under the Espionage Act for leaking secrets, eight were arrested under Obama's administration, according to Alexandra Ellerbeck, senior Americas and U.S. researcher with the Committee to Protect Journalists.

And prosecutors under Obama have spied on journalists and named a journalist an “unindicted co-conspirator,” according to the New York Times. Ellerbeck said that's just a step away from arresting a reporter for writing a story — and raises dangerous constitutional issues about freedom of the press.

According to reports at the time from even New York Times journalists, no administration was tougher on leakers and punishing to the media than Obama’s, a saga reinforced by reporters who have called Trump’s team more forthcoming.

Criticism of Obama’s attacks on the media and leakers did not just come in tweets and TV appearances by journalists but in an official report from the Committee to Protect Journalists, authored by former Washington Post Executive Editor Leonard Downie Jr.

“This is the most closed, control freak administration I’ve ever covered,” said David E. Sanger, veteran chief Washington correspondent of The New York Times, in the report.

It detailed prosecutions and even the use of lie-detectors on staffers. Some have encouraged Trump to use lie-detector tests on his staff, something he has so far ignored.

Why is it that you will not admit to the many beneficial changes that President Trump has made in his near two years in office, while Obama's eight years of "hope and change" represent a dismal period with little action geared toward improving the well being of the average population base. It's ironic to see him jump back into today's politics when he had every "opportunity" to produce the kind of changes that President Trump has made that show "record" heights over a number of "economic and business" fronts. Just listening to Obama's recent "call to arms" was hard to stomach. With all the "deep state" findings that are being uncovered from his administration, he might be better served by letting "sleeping" dog lie.

I knew who I was supporting.  He was not phoning it in on the way to a coronation like your candidate did.  He was getting pummelled 24/7 by the media, outworked your candidate and won an election with significant consequences.   I do not support him for his morality, personal choices, and private life.  I knew what I was getting.  No surprises.  He is, however, an individual who gets things done, plain and simple.  He listened to the "deplorables" and crafted a platform that, in my opinion, will make my childrens lives much more satisfying.  Very plain and very simple.  

I  know you will ask then why was WJC so villified if morality in our president is non-consequential.  My answers, Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones, Juanita Broadderick.  An individual who used his power and persona for crimes against women who were never given any credence by the media.  He then instructed his wife, who offered no resistance, to go out and crucify these women.  Your candidate then had the gall to say in India that the 52% of white women who voted for Trump did so because of pressure from husbands, bosses, sons, yet was guilty of succumbing to the same from her husband.  Or did she.......?

Bottom line for me Archie is this:  Years ago the fed government decided that it knew more about healthcare than those of us who practice it, and had no problem in telling us to step aside while a new sheriff rode into town.  Now that the shoe is on the other foot, ie the 2016 election which told the fed gov't that the people know more about how to run a government than lifelong bureaucrats, and are willing to vote to prove it, the Deep State goes into survival mode in order to preserve their power.  You liberals really don't see the true fight we are fighting, your view is tainted by media who view you as gullible.  I must say that their strategy is effective in the short term, but you underestimate Trump and his merry deplorables.

The ''government'' may have decided they know better how to run healthcare (as opposed to the money grubbing insurance industry) and they are perhaps no better at it than anybody else, but even with the Trumpistas running every damn nook and cranny in the government including the courts, they still haven't managed to destroy Obamacare and today, even in its ''Trump executive order'' weakend condition, it is supported by 56% of the populace and enrollment is growing.  The strange thing is the people who are taking the most advantage of it are the Trumpista base.  They are deplorables as well as idiots!

Remember 57% of the college grads voted for Clinton, 58% of the people with annual incomes over $250,000 (your group l'm sure) voted for Clinton and (if I remember correctly) about 70% of the white males high school dropouts making less than $20,000 a year voted for Trump!

Your view is tainted by rightwing bias that doesn't give 2 hoots in hell about the well being of the ENTIRE country, as long as your own little plush and confortable corner of it stays warm and cozy and free of those ''other'' people!
