I wouldn't be surprised by anything as far as this looser is concerned.  As for the preacher, wonder if he is also attracted by''purity''?  Wouldn't be the first fundamentalist bible thumper to succumb to the evils of the flesh.  Of course if they got mama's approval it's all ok!

I would like to come to the defense of "bible thumpers" and "family values folks".  We have some rift raft among us, as all have sinned.  And some shove it in your face.  A lot of us believe, and are saddened by the hypocrisy of some.  As you should be of yours.

Self-righteousness is being more concerned for, and motivated by, the knowledge of the sin of others than your own.

It has always been my experience that real Christians don't have to thump their Bible, rave about their family values, and deny they have ever sinned.  I have a very good friend who is one of the most devout people I know, but she doesn't talk about it. She lives her values every day.  She is my role model, and I can only hope one day to be like her.  It's not that there aren't good men and women out their living their lives, their values and their faith.  But when you are a public official, you carry out the duties of your secular office for the good of all; for instance, you don't say that you will not carry out a ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States, just because it doesn't fit with your personal beliefs.  Because the Supreme Court makes their rulings based on the U.S. Constitution and their interpretation of it, not on their personal beliefs and not because of what is in the Bible.  Because even the Bible is subject to interpretation.  If there were only one, then we would only have one religion in the world.  But all people of faith are bound by the belief of a Creator.  

When I hear someone say that another person was attracted to a young girl's purity - to me, that means he wants to be the first to touch her and he is attracted by her "purity"i.e., virginity.  You know in some cultures, men pay a huge price to be the first.  In our culture, we were taught to maintain our virginity until we are married because every man that would be a husband wants to be the first. Times have changed, but there will always be those who will blame the woman.   But getting back to Judge Moore.  Presumably, he wished to retain his law license, he didn't rape women or have sex with minor girls, because that would have been the end of his career.  But just because he didn't do it, doesn't mean he didn't want to, or didn't try.  Just because he is now married and running for office doesn't mean he never entertained a perversion.  

Womaen have been taught throughout time that reporting harassment or sexual abuse will not end well for them.  It may cost them their reputation, their job, their family.  So they frequently hang back and don't say anything, but it doesn't mean they forget about it.  Even when it was a long time ago, a woman remembers how helpless and disrespected she felt.

Hypocracy - would that be refusing to admit something happened when it did?  I have many sins that I atone for - but I certainly don't broadcast them, don't broadcast how I have repented or deny they ever happened.  And I am not runing for public office, holding myself up as a role model for others.  Nothing about Judge Moore makes me think that he will represent me in Congress, because he has shown repeatedly that he is about doing what he wants to do.  He seems to me to be a man that enjoys the noteriety a bit too much.  

So I feel justified in judging him for office.  When you step into the public arena, you have to expect lions.

I certainly am not defending Moore or his pastor.  Moore is unfit, was before recent revelations.   He is bad but not bad because he is bible thumper.  He is bad but not because he spouts family values.  

And most anti Christian folks put us all in thumper category whether we are or not.

That is my point.

Don't know a good way out of current problem but Jones not it

At one time, I worked with a woman who was always bragging about her husband, her kids, how they were restoring a Victorian house and every thing was perfect.  Then I changed jobs and shared an office with her husband.  He told me how he took up with her only because he thought her family had money,  he had never paid a dime of child support for his first wife for his kids with her, how he told the hospital they would just have to keep her and the twins, because he had no money to pay.  They did live in Victorian house, but they weren't restoring it and he was always complaining about needing to fix it.  One morning he showed up at work, with a cut on his face.  Seems he was down at the local pub, and got a little too cozy with someone's girlfriend at the pool table and the guy punched him and cut his face.  

facts can be dressed up or dressed down, depending on what you want others to think.  

I don't think people generally think that people of faith are Bible Thumpers until they start thumping it in another's face.

And there is hope.  A friend of mine visiting her parents in AL for Thanksgiving texted that her Parents, who are longtime staunch Republicans and who supported Trump even if with some reluctance, made a point to announce this election they will be voting for Jones as a place holder until a reasonable Republican candidate can reclaim the seat.  They further say most of their friends and aquantances are doing the same.

Article in al.com (I hate that liberal krap rag) today said that blacks would have to turn out to vote in numbers greater than they did for o-BAMA...and that ain't gonna happen....never has, never will.  I think turn out will be low across the board, but Moore will probably win.  I'm not hearing the krap the the ARCH-IDIOT is spreading.
