Population in 1950....AL 3.062 million....GA 3.444 million
Population in 2016....AL 4.850 million....GA 10.310 million
The growth of metro B'ham vs metro ATL is even more stark and instructive! It illustrates the difference between being lead by the Bull Conners, George Wallaces and Roy Moores instead of the Ivan Allens, Carl Sanders and Roy Barnes!
There is a reason!! Yep ole Roy deserves Alabama and Alabama deserves ole Roy...obviously he is the choice of the crazies on this forum! That ain't no compliment!
PS: I have lived in an intown ATL ''Hood'' since 1973 and have loved it every minute, have never felt afraid, never been threatened by any people (including the black man whose yard backs up to mine), never been robbed, and live in my 3d neighborhood house I bought in 1981 for $79,000 which would now easily sell for $700,000+ !. Wonder where Wix lives and why?

Typical liberal. You are such an idiot you don't even realize that to point out you have never been robbed or threatened by the BLACK Man whose property adjoins yours is absolutely a racist statement. The inference is that since he is black he would be more inclined to rob or threaten someone.
As for Atlanta growth vs . Birmingham, most of us consider that good thing. I drive in Atlanta frequently. You can have it. As for your 10X appreciation on the house, I am throwing the BS flag. It may be true, but only because you have done major uprades/expansion to the tune of six figures a somewhere along the line. So peddle that somewhere else. Only gentrification causes that kind of appreciation if it's even true, which I doubt.
BOTTOM LINE, WITH THIS POST YOU PROVED YOUR RACIST ATTITUDE. At the very least it's passive racism by showing the low expectation you liberals put on the "poor downtrodden blacks". Since he's black he should be expected to threaten and rob. What a racist dumb@ss you have proven yourself to be.

Sorry archie, but I've got to megaditto lifer on this one. You reveal your subconscious iberal racism and stereotyping in your post. I'm not being critical, because everyone carries bias in themselves. But liberals try to say they don't have bias, when they in fact are quietly much more biased in multiple areas than conservatives are.
And you won't win any arguments by comparing alavam to georgia. I'll take backward alabama to progressive Georgia any day of the week.

I don't know if Roy Moore and Alabama deserve each other, but I don't like or support Ray Moore. I thought what he did on the marriage license thing was ridiculous. I don't think you have to embarce every idea, but once the Supreme Court rules, you better get with the program. Alabama is a consevative state and that is fine, but it needs someone in Congress who can figure out how to vote conservative, but with an eye towards the future.

I agree,t. I'll vote for Moore if he's the nominee, if for no other reason than it will be fun to watch the liberal media heads explode on live tv once he gets in office. But i prefer a less religiously dogmatic candidate.

You and I are in agreement. I'm always a bit suspicious of candidates or politicians that pound their chests in the name of religion. I consider religious beliefs to be a very personal matter - if it guides your thinking, that is fine, but you don't announce it to the world as a reason to vote for you. last I heard, Moore, Strange and Brooks were running neck and neck.

I leave to go back to the seat of insanity Monday night so won't be faced with making a choice between flawed candidates. The one thing about Moore, if elected, is the other 99 Senators don't give a potter's damn about his religious zealotry and he will find out very quickly that he went from being a big fish in a little pond to a guppy in the ocean. The ONLY reason he keeps getting elected is because he flaunts his supposed religious beliefs. Personally I think he is a charlatan who chooses targets that will get him the most votes from his religious followers.
