Archy, I just saw where the GA Governor fired six of the nine members of the Board of Education. What gives?? I know the GA democrats are in charge of education in your fine city. What possessed the Republican gov to do such a terrible thing.

Why do you think he took that action? Doesn't take someone with Archies IQ to answer your question. I bet even you can answer. Go for it.

So sorry that I intimidate you to the point that have to run and hide. I will try to be kinder and gentler to you in the future and avoid disagreeing with you. After all, you are the Tea Party and in your mind always Right. But, you lost and it is time to get over it. Opps. I forgot to be nice to you. Sweet dreams Wixie Poo.

anything that you were the kid everyone picked on when you were young. As I have always said ... you are pathetic.
You seriously embarrass yourself ... you are definitely associated with the correct political party. You fit right in with the rest of the loony toons that have to preach fear to try and get their way, since obviously their policies have failed everywhere they have been tried.

This is really sad. DeKalb County in the 70's & 80's had the best school system in the state. Now it's a disaster. Metro Atlanta's growth rate since the beginning of the "great compression" has stagnated. Companies interested in moving to the city are confronted with their employees having to use private schools at $25K per year. Traffic is bad..yes...Crime is bad yes. But add in the breakdown of the school systems in the metro and you have a tipping point that kills off growth. Do we have a tipping point here at Lake Martin?

On occasion a Republican does something good. Deal removed 6 members of the board because they were acting more like typical Republicans...doing favors for friends and supporters and sticking their noses where they don't belong. Of course I suspect you might be assuming they were all black...think again.

Odds are some are white. Of nine members three are white...or appear white. I suppose some blacks could actually be Amurasians. Don't know if any are Muslim, Christian, Hindu or Jewish though...hadn't thought about their sexual habits either. What did I miss?
Oh well. 6 of 9 members were dumped. That's big news.

My granddaughter is a 3d grader at Oak Grove Elementary in DeKalb . It is still rated as one of the best public schools in the Atlanta Metro area with test scores equal to or exceeding the best schools in the suburban and exurban systems. There are other elementary, middle and high schools in DeKalb with similar results. It is a shame that children will be punished for the childish actions of a few sorry azz adults.
BTW: My granddaughter's mother attended Morningside in the Atlanta system...then and now one of the metro's best. The quality of schools is more influenced by the socio-economic demographic of the student body and the extent to which parents are involved than any other single factor. Lester Maddox once famously said "Georgia will never have a good prison system until we get a better class of prisoner". Same goes for students and schools.

I attended Sara Smith in Buckhead. My kids moved into the district and now have kids in the school. When I asked about the system quality 3-4 years ago I got the comment that it was the best school in the system and the parents were active. My advice was not to forget that the City of Atlanta still ran the schools.
Last year the achievement scores for Sarah Smith were just way too high so the district was gerrymandered to bring the scores down. Sort of like an academic "busing" program to achieve mediocraty.
If you live in a city like Atlanta you'd be wise to go private...although even then you have to be careful. Some of these teach the "equal outcome" religion and moral relativism.
BTW I had relatives in Oak Grove and you're absolutely right - it was an excellent school -even then.
