As was the case with the latest Presidential election I find myself with a very unsettling choice, between a questionable character and one who would work to make America a cesspool of socialism.  Thus, as I did in November 2016 I will do what is "less worse" for the country and vote for Roy Moore.

Life is a series of choices.  To choose an alternative that is flat-assed wrong doesn't make the alternative choice right, just necessary.

Before Archie or Go **** Himself jumps on this, it is MY decision based on what I think. I am nobody's ****ing puppet.  Deal with it.

One of these days we will have a choice between two good candidates, but going for "less worse" is the current state.  Will take clothes pin with me to poll also.

If I had the opportunity I would vote for Moore just to stick it in the ear of the media for holding these stories until he was the nominee.  No way would I reward them for that.  I just listened to Shelby saying he wouldn't vote for Moore and that Alabama deserved better.  He went on to say that there were lots of great people that could represent the state.  Well duh!  But at this point it is a binary choice between a deeply flawed candidate that will likely be ejected from the Senate before he even gets there or a left wing nut that doesn't even remotely represent the views of the majority of citizens of Alabama.  Having said all that, there is a principled argument for not voting for him although that is akin to a vote for Jones.  As lakengulf said, once again it is choice of the lesser of two evils.

I am normally a lurker on this forum but my 2 cents worth.

i cannot vote for Jones. A member of my family worked with him for a number of years and he was described as an egotistical a**hole that demeaned staff and even fellow attorneys.

i will vote for Moore because he will probably self destruct and the “Guvner” will be able to appoint someone else.

Is a perfect example of the demand for Term Limits. And I really am not swayed by his statement..He is next..

His statements leave me perplexed. It's one thing not voting for Moore but it looks as though he is actively trying to throw it to Jones.

listening to his "I won't vote for Roy Moore" statement makes me think "He doth protest to much". I will not cast another vote for Shelby!

It really makes no sense.  A write in is a vote for Jones.  It's one thing to have that personal conviction but going public with it is really despicable......this is something you would expect from Corker or Alexander in TN but not Shelby.

Shelby needs to go.  He won't be missed.

With politics getting worse and worse every year why would "good" people enter the race?

I do not imagine getting to vote for a good person again in my lifetime- its all between various levels of evil.

sort of like the old joke about who would spend millions of dollars for a 50K salary.

It's hard to believe that Shelby didn't realize that his little statement would be in ads and now I just got an edited version on a robo call that makes it sound like it comes from Shelby to vote for Jones. Despicable. 205-578-0016

I just can't do it.  Did you know that in 2011, he said that all amendments to the Constitution after #10 should be withdrawn (he was on some wacko radio station).  He recently said that things were better during slavery.... I was tempted to vote for him until the GOP backed off their claim that they wouldn't allow him to be seated.

I'm going to skp tomorrow's election.  If that throws it to Jones, so be it.  I don't want it that way, but I just can't force myself to vote for Moore.  I hate the idea of losing the Republican Majority in the Senate.  And I'm sure Doug Jones is an a-hole, because you almost have to be an A-hole to run for office, esp if you are a Democrat in a Republican state.

So go ahead and call me a closet liberal or call me stupid, but I'm the only one that has to live with me forever.  I only wish that we had been presented with a viable candidate.  The more I experience Alabama politics, the more I think it is absurd (and possibly worse than NJ, and that is going some).

I respect whatever anyone decides to do tomorrow.  It's just tough.

I started posting here because of the thoughtful people that I became to respect Hound being one of them. Have to respect her thoughtful approach to a bad choice we all have to make. Having owned a bussiness most of my life I have been presented with many opportunities of having to take the lesser of two evils. Hopefully my vote will keep the country moving in the "right" direction in case another Supreme Court decision has to be made in the next few years. As the Chicago Dems say "vote early and often" haha

I'm sure your relative is telling the truth about Doug Jones being an azzhole to work for and in general, so I'm wondering did you ask him or her whether Jones ever groped her or his wife or their daughter?  Did he ever tell your friend or his wife that their daughter was HOT?
