You would have to spend $10,000,000 everyday for 273 years to spend one trillion dollars.

*College debt is now larger than credit card debt and exceeds one trillion dollars. This is a mathematical figure that is incomprehensible to the human mind.

Personally, I would not attend college these days considering the cost/benefit and Google.

It is very interesting how the liberals first corrupted the home financing industry, by making lenders lend money to undeserving, un-qualified, and under financed people, with the clear knowledge that these people did not qualify financially or morally for a home and would fail.  And fail they did.  Now America has a class comically called "middle class" who can't afford a home or certainly not a college education.  o-BAMMIE and the dimokraps were the big ike's that moved all the college loans over to the gubment, so now all college debt is beholden to da gubment.......and tha Berney idiot wants to dissolve all the college debt and give "free education" to everyone...what a joke.  Colleges are now nothing more than another bureaucy beholden to da gubment for it's teat to suck on.

Now Shortbus, where do find these articles?  Yes, college is ridiculously expensive, but academic scolarships have also increased.  And your article fails to mention that a lot of students take their student loans, not for school, but for life expenses.  My niece will attend Rider University this Fall.  The tuition is $35K, but she has $21K in academic scolarships for all 4 years.  And her parents will pay the rest.

But we have created the expectation now that everyone will attend college.  Most parents would not encourage their offspring to pursue a trade.  That is now considered "beneath them".  I do agree that a trained tradesman would likely earn more over a lifetime than someone with a degree in theatre arts, black studies, or even history.  We, as a society, need to get over this idea that it is somehow demeaning to work with your hands.  Most kids no longer can graduate in 4 years, because the colleges are so overcrowded.  Or they find a major that will require at least a Masters degree to even get an entry level job.  (Think Marine biology, psychology, sociology)

And what about the parents that fail to plan to pay for their kid's education?  I know of a lot of kids that manage to graduate debt free, because their parents started putting away money the day the kid was born, so that their kids had the money to attend college without going into debt.

So there is no grand conspiracy theory on the part of the government.  What there is, is a failure to plan, an unrealist expectation that everyone should go to college, and students who think college loans are a way to finance a lifestyle.   I see there is no "indoctrination"  on the the part of the government, just an imposed expectation that everyone should go to college.

But I do agree that the government should get out of the loan business.  Let these kids get private loans, let their parents plan for their education, let them work their way through college, instead of taking out so many loans.

Please Google "Phil Gramm...Banking deregulation".  Last time I checked Senator Gramm was not a liberal Democrat nor "dimokcrap" but he did have more to do with giving banks carte blance to do anything they wanted with theirs and other peoples money including purchasing, bundling and reselling mortgages, good and bad, to their greedy heart's content!

Archidiot, I'm sure you accept every word written in The Atlantic, since it is published only for the consumption of the literary geniuses like you.  Below is an article from The Atlantic that nails your buddy, Barney Frank, for his role in the banking fiasco of Clinton that ended in 2007.  If you must reply, please do so with proof, not just your blubber.

I enjoy being accused by offering blubber by the CEO of Blather and Rant.  I have no intention of doing your work for you...obviously you have no interest in the truth if you are not interested in a little Google research on your on.

Yes, Barney Frank is wrong in blaming the banks and only the banks.  The government gave Fannie and Freddy the ability to make bad loans and then the government compounded the problem with congress passing the banking deregulations authored by Phil Gramm which gave the banks the ability to buy them, bundle them and resell them to a third party whose investers ended up holding the bag!!

Take up the challange and Google "Phil Gramm...banking deregulation!!  I dare you!

True enough, I was wrong and Trump will take the nomination on the first ballot.   But I'll claim a partial victory since two ex-GOP Governors are planning to run a 3rd party Libertarian campaign to give reasonable conservatives another alternative.  I am watching to see what grows out of that over time.

A bigger bet is what will happen now that Donald Trump owns the Republican Party.  I wonder if he will make them print his name on the main GOP office buildings.........   I can't get over how many 'our beliefs are too strong to compromise' types are flipping to support him.  Like David Brooks said... it's a Joe McCarthy moment for the party.

The article referenced by Hound in The Atlantic is really worth reading.  It's not a hit piece, and provides a whole lot of frameworks to judge Trump by.

Lot's of "what if's" still out there.  Can Hilda actually escape indictment?  Will Bern run a third party effort?  Right now, Hilda looks exactly like she did in '08.....headed for the toilet.  It is virtually impossible for politicians, pundits, or the media to understand Trump.  Trump doesn't think or talk like a politician, is not motivated the same way, reasons like a businessman, and takes risks that people don't understand.....he's a very successful risk taker.  A politician only thinks of himself and what consequences he personally may suffer from his decision. I understand business and businessmen, but politicians all seem to have sold their souls to the devil....I don't even like to be around politicians.  BTW, what impresses me most about Trump are his kids.  Even though he has been married three times the family is really  a family, unlike I expected.  Well educated, very successful, well spoken, and generally, very impressive.....I happen to think you can tell a lot about the father from observing his kids.  Oh, and Trump has much better taste in women than Slick Willie Clinton and o-BAMMIE!

Dan McAdams, author and psychology professor at Northwestern, and educated at Ha-vard has written an article that makes every effort to create the false impression that Trump is mean, unworthy of oxygen, and a waste of our time, which is what he was paid to do.  The photos of Trump say everything you need to know about the slant of the article.  McAdams' CV is an interesting display of liberal studies that exhibit his narcissism and desire to publish or perish.  Article was what I would expect from that liberal krap-rag
