Have not checked for authenticity - Fits Biden!!

Joe asks for 6 months of retraining
for 'Cattle Guards'!

For those of you who have never traveled to the west, or southwest, cattle guards are horizontal steel rails placed at fence openings,in dug-out places in the roads adjacent to highways (sometimes across highways), to prevent cattle from crossing over that area.  For some reason the cattle will not step on the "guards," probably because they fear getting their feet caught between the rails.

A few months ago, President Obama received and was reading a report that there were over 100,000 cattle guards in Colorado .  The Colorado ranchers had protested his proposed changes in grazing policies, so he ordered the Secretary of the Interior to fire half of the "cattle" guards immediately!

Before the Secretary of the Interior could respond and presumably try to
straighten President Obama out on the matter, Vice-President Joe Biden intervened with a request that...before any "cattle" guards were fired, they be given six months of retraining for Arizona border guards.

'Times are hard', said Joe Biden, 'it's only fair to the cattle guards and their families!'

You can delete this and move it to the jokes forum. It's false and been around a long time using many different names from both parties.

What about these comments from the Washington elite? Should they be moved to the joke section? -

  • "After we pass the bill, we can read it"
  • "I voted for it before I voted against it"
  • "My administration will be transparent"
  • "I Inherited all these problems"
  • "I invented the Internet"
  • "I have never been prouder of this country"

I think you are reaching a new low here Lotowner.  Maybe you should stick to your usual cut and paste.

TH

A friend once told me to go sit in concrete and toughen my skin so that I would not be so sensitive. My advice to you - do the same.

As far as I know, you or no one else have not been selected or charged as a judge or to formulate standards of excellence for the different posts. It is obvious that SOME ARE INTENDED TO BE THOUGHT PROVOKING, SOME SARCASTC, AND SOME TO BE HUMUROUS.

Did I sense that you were in an attack mode. This piece originally was meant to be humorous. Now, you are attempting to describe in a sarcastic mode that I only "cut and paste". Is there a rule against "cut and paste"?  Very few subjects posted on this forum are original writing from conception - most are sourced from the  Internet, newspapers, or TV.

I also suspect that many on this forum, including myself, are very tolerant of the many disparaging remarks that you have made  against a fellow American, former VP candidate and Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin. Have you now reached a new low with the disparaging remarks that you write each time someone on the forum mentions Palin's name. You may not agree with her political persuasions but without doubt she is a success as a Governor of Alaska; a wife; a mother; a grandmother; and she is a a person with feelings. Has she made mistakes? Yes! But, do not write her off.

Come on, loosen up.

This wasn't even funny.  It was lame.  It wasn't thought-provoking, although I must say I did wonder what you could possibly be thinking.

I find it hard to think of Sarah Palin as successful as Governor of Alaska.  She did not complete her term.  She quit.  I don't think of that as a success.  As far as her success as a wife, mother, grandmother, etc.  She seems a little suspect there too.   But, as a "mouth-er of platitudes", I think she deserves a gold star.

And Yes, it is my OPINION that she has just about used up her 15 minutes of fame.  She can't seem to stop talking.  And she needs to figure out (this is not an original thought) -- when you find yourself in a hole, stop digging.  So applicable in so many instances, don't you think?

No shortages of opinions on this forum.  Some fact based, some not so much. Sometimes you cut and paste something that is interesting.  And we all have a good discussion, call each other names, etc.  I agree with the person that posted you should have posted this to the joke forum.
