Yes, it was interesting and the info presented shows just how complicated the entire river/lake process is. There is no one agency/company that controls everything. Also, my thanks to Mike and the Board for all that they do. Regardless of the negative comments, I also applaud the overall effort to basically keep our lake at full pool (at least above 464 and to me, that is full) throughout the lack of rain, the heat, etc., of the past several weeks. Will we always be happy? No, we won't. Are still darn lucky to be sitting where we are? Absolutely, yes. Happy boating and be safe out there! HP

Well, my boat is broke so its just a floating pier for awhile. But it's a nice thought. Something I didn't get to say. And maybe Mike will respond. But it's just a thought. I noticed Mr. Peeples said they were waiting on a license. Yet he also said their license required they do certain things. That confused me a bit. But the other issue that was mentioned but never really vetted out. There has been many statements made by SoCo about why they can't bring the water up before April 1 being fish habitat and spawning seasons and so forth. But as was the case this year, the warm weather and early rains caused an early spawning season and all the fishermen I have heard from have said this has been one of the best years ever for fishing. And the water never came up until after April 1. I suppose what I wanted to say is, I'm no marine biologist, but fish are gonna spawn in whatever water they have. It's one of those natural things. The other thing that got rushed through is that we had plenty of rainfall in February and March but the level never came up at all. I'm just thinking if APCO would be a little more opportunistic and hold the water while it's falling, it seems summertime levels would be much easier to reach. I wish we could have gotten all the loganmartin.info folks together. Maybe we need some name tags. But I'm also gonna send the webmaster an email and encourage him to show up for the October meeting. There is a bunch of useful stuff on this site and I think this one and LMLPA needs to be working together. <>< TC

I would love to come over to one of these meetings. I don't know what was said about the fish spawning but you are correct that the fish are going to spawn no matter where the water is. The other thing is that most people don't understand how the rain and river works. The way to keep the river system works for us is we need it to rain around Rome Ga so that is sends water down and the more rain we get in south Alabama it will slow down the flow. Really getting a lot of rain around Logan Martin does not help much without the rains above and below. Look at the amount of rain that has came down in Rome and in west Ga and you will see why we still have water.

Bottom line is I love the lake and all the great people around it. Not a better place to be, sometimes I wounder what the rich people are doing for fun...
