They posted some drivel about lake levels using the same tired party line they've been feeding us for years. El Nina this, FERC that. Go read it, and BE SURE TO POST FEEDBACK. I'm still working on getting the LMLPA to sanction a petition, but it's taking time. You can let your voice be heard NOW. https://www.facebook.com/AlabamaPower Thanks E

I looked at it. Less substance there than there is water in our lake. I'm trying to decide what to say to either stir something up, or get my rear kicked off the lake.

Twc, do like Bob Marley suggests, and STIR IT UP. APCO will only know that we're upset if we tell them. Fire away.

In my discussions, I understand that the canoe clubs have a strong lobbyist in Montgomery to get the  recreational releases for their clubs.  In turn, they get the FERC to put it in their licenses.  These clubs are drawing national and international interest. They have organized a club which is a 501(c) 4 non-profit formed in 1991.

So when the petition is ready, send me one so that I can get our neighborhood to sign.  In addition to it going to Ala Power, it probably  needs to go to the Alabama Public Service Commission, the Governor of Alabama as well as our local State Senator and Representative.

If we do not find some way to do something about these recreational releases which are coming out of Logan Martin, without above average rainfall, we will not have our summer levels again.  From what it appears to me is that they are  hiding some of the releases under "endangered snails" and some kind of "fishery" releases which are going on right now.

We need a lobbyist to go to Montgomery.  The LMLPA needs to do this for us.  And they need the backing of everyone on the lake as well as businesses and Pell City city officials and other cities affected, before it is too late.  It is my understanding that these "fishery" releases are being negotiated as we speak and canoe releases are not permanent yet with FERC.  But they are working on it.  Once it becomes permanent, there is nothing we can do.
